I always loved this theme more than any other on the show. 🥰🥰🥰

Agreed.. This is very Bernard Herrmann. With a bit of Wagner chucked in. (And some early John Barry 'Bond').

Exactly this one for the First Mini-Series and another Theme ("Final Battle") for the second Mini-Series so my More Favorite one was from the Second Mini-Series dont get me wrong I like Both but more so the Second Mini-Series theme + from the Original V Series The Year 2 Opener (They ought to have used the Original Year 2 Opener for the second V Series just modernized it a bit just my opinion.

Bernard Hermann should have sued.

Yes the theme is heavily inspired by north by northwest......joe Harrell and Kenneth johnson always planned it so.

It's likely that he couldn't have sued even if he wanted to. The copyright to soundtracks is often not owned by the composers, but by the studio. If both shows belong to the same studio, or to subsidiaries of the same company, they obviously won't want to sue themselves. It's also possible that Herrmann couldn't have sued, because he, too, borrowed his theme from a third source that we don't happen to be aware of. In any case, I have always believed that stealing is fine, as long as you make something better or more interesting out of it. All great composers stole. Mozart, Händel, John Williams, Haydn and Stravinsky are especially notorious for that. Good for them!

Bernard Hermann was already dead by then.

This was a blatant plagiarism of Bernard Hermann's opening theme for Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" (1959). That's why it was so good, of course.
