What is at the very centre of Jupiter? Deep within its core. While we know a great deal about the gas giant's atmospheric features, including its colourful cloud bands and raging storms, much remains unknown about the planet's inner workings. Jupiter's interior is shrouded in mystery. In particular, the question of what exactly is at the very core of the gas planet. Below its thick clouds. A question that has puzzled scientists for decades. But, thanks to NASA's Juno spacecraft, that mystery is beginning to be solved. Take a trip inside the solar system's largest planet and find out what scientists think is going on down there, trust me, it's very bizarre.

The more images we get, the more I am fascinated by how absolutely amorphous Jupiter really is. Visually, it's almost mesmerizing like a lava lamp with its endlessly swirling clouds and brilliant colors. The closest analogue I can think of would maybe be the sun when viewed close up and through a light filter. Great video!

@@mytube225don't call Jupiter a failure 😰💔.... It lacked discipline to be the best it can be... But it now makes up for it by being the solar systems big brother bouncer, using gravitational locks on incoming asteroids and swinging them out back into deep space.

It’s kind of a stretch calling it a failed star. Would need about 1000 more Jupiter sized planets mass wise to even be comparable to our own sun.

It's pretty clear that the majority of the universe is death, death, death, death, death, if humans were to ever try traversing there. I see vids on "most horrifying planets", but to me anything past the point where it would instantly kill me is equally uninhabitable, so I'm less interested in how excessively so it is, and more interested in just learning about the composition of various planets.

When that comet hit Jupiter back in 94, could it be the cause of the great red spot to shrink? It could of changed the atmosphere a little or disrupt something inside that influences the storm and that's how it's getting smaller? Maybe? Is there anyone concidering that to be a plausible theory? 🌀🌀🌀

I didn't know about the probe. Thanks. The one thing that I don't understand is the bands. Some bands travel faster than others but why? Is it because the lighter substance are clouds, and they are being pulled into streams due to high airspeeds while the darker bands are at a lower altitude?
