At Cine Gear 2024, we sat down with Domenic Barbero from V35 Project to learn more about their new modified lens sets. Particularly, we focused on their new detuning option for SIGMA FF High-Speed Primes, which aims at giving these modern lenses a vintage-inspired feel.

The work they are doing with cinema lenses is incredibly exciting, and the project benefits from the perfect blend of talent. Success is on the horizon for this project.

Sigma did this themselves and are called the FF classics. Though people moan that they're not t1.5 anymore - though that is what the coatings help achieve with focusing the light.

What we’ve done is muuuuuch much different than sigmas Classic design which is basically just uncoated fronts.

@@NorthwestCameraCo yeah noticed after I watched ahead. Wonder what the cost difference is between your service and a classic ff , obviously not to say your work isn't worth it. For the people who do want it it will be. For those who can't afford it then they could maybe get the classics, again not sure on the price diff. Maybe you could tune those as well might make for an interesting look. and finally for those who have all the money can buy a set of K35s. It may have been nice to mention the classics in the video to say you have taken it a step further. Even Zeiss do a versio on request with different coatings. For a more vintage / classic look Though wish you the best of luck with these.
