MG Astor makes more sense for a base variant if your running is low and looking for a family car. Grand Vitara's resale might be higher on the other hand after a period of 5-7 years but its initial cost is much higher, specially in states like KA where there is a higher road tax for vehicles above 10 lac mark. .

MG Astor has 5 star safety ratings for the ZS platform which it is based on. This main factor should be considered as it is the main factor for increase in body weight and safety. Please consider Safety Ratings into consideration.

I have taken test drive of this car twice of 1.5 NA MT, first time the engine performance was very poor , then i took test drives of other cars as well , but due to value for money proposition i considered it again and second time the drive experience was good, is there a difference between the models or year of manufacturing , i mean did they tune the engine or somehting. Can someone suggest if they have driven the 2024 sprint varient and how is the performance?

I feel safe, driving an astor compared to any maruti suzuki cars. You get a premium feel inside and outside Astor which grand vitara can't offer Mileage shouldn't be a priority per say. It's my personal opinion

I am asking for a very absurd comparison! After enlisting all my requirement and desire to extract value without extreme cost of ownership. I have an inclination for diesel but petrol is more practical. I have to decide between Maruta Grand Vitara Sigma and Kia Seltos Diesel HTK(O) models. Could you compare them. Driving is about 18k per year.

Astor is way better in terms of luxury, build quality and features. Performance wise also good. I always prefer Astor over grand Vitara

Perceived value of astor with so many features is 65k. It does not look correct since the 10.1 inch screen itself will cost above 20k min. Other features like hill descent traction control are much more advanced.. its shoukd go above 1.4 lakhs.😊

Looks little biased towards grand vitara. Size difference in boot and width should have made balanced. And weight ratio - safety rating? Astor base with better interiors, oem display and strong built will be easily VFM. Except mileage in city.

When you look for sturdy and quality, you need to compromise on mileage to some extent bro. If this vehicle also wrap up with thin body sheets that maruthi uses, it also gives the comparable mileage but at the cost of safety. Our Indian mindsets always look for economy at the cost of safety , hence the reason even if many maruthi models got 1or 2 rating like Alto, wagor r , Swift etc still they are leading the market

Road presence, brand trust, service network, hybrid technology, mileage, resale value these are the deciding factors. Build quality is also not so bad. Its good. Resale value of NonMaruti vehicles in India is very bad. Grand Vitara is better.
