So if Novacaine is a prequel to this song ... Does this mean that the doctor and the patient in both songs are the same person? If that's what you were going for ... damn, this is both terrifying *and* heartbreaking. If I'm getting this right (and I'm probably not,) then Flower started off as a dentist. A very irritable, impatient, and unsympathetic dentist, but a dentist nonetheless. Along the way they grew increasingly bitter towards their patients and grew a bit of a sadistic streak, maintaining a professional exterior while secretly taking pleasure in their patients' anxiety and pain. Now years later they discover that karma has come knocking on their doorstep; they have developed hyperdontia and must undergo the same painful treatment that they've been inflicting on others. Now that they're on the other end of the operating table, they finally understand why the patients acted out the way they did, and Flower feels extreme guilt and remorse for taking pleasure in it. They feel so much regret that they think they deserve to be punished, mindlessly ripping out tooth after tooth until they snap out of it. By then they have maimed themself beyond repair, resulting in that lovely picture we get at the end.

Your taking it too literally, the song is about a girl who did things in the past that she regrets now. So she tries to act as a "dentist" to herself by pulling out "teeth" these teeth are supposed to represent memories and past regrets, the pulling process is her trying to forget and compensate for these regrets but by doing this she's only hurting herself more.Or atleast that's what I think it's about. I have my own theory about this. I haven't seen any comments yet on what it's actually about. Don't worry it isn't about an asylum murder or someone going insane and like that. But it remind me of something I did myself. Hyperdontia is the over production of teeth and memories are mentioned so I'm guessing it's that he's forcing himself to forget painful memories throughout the song yet when they are brought up it causes him to panic and it all comes flooding back and he has a panic attack. I think it's symbolised by the face his jaw and all his teeth are gone that he's "removed" so many memories it's actually causing him great pain

So I kind of had hyperdontia when I was younger? I had supernumerary teeth, just one or two, but yeah. So they had to get them out because they were affecting another tooth's growth, and I feel like that's what the song is about: there were memories or people who wouldn't let you improve or overgrow some things, but when you pulled them out, it turned out to be even worse than the the situation you were in before they left. This sadly reminds me of one time I was watching tv with my parents, and there was some news thing on about a dentist that would pull teeth out of disabled children. Just so he could charge the parents more. And then it even said how one child was calling for his parents, but they couldn't help their son due to the fact they were both deaf. The way the parents found out was when their son finally came and told them in sign language. It must have been horrible for those poor children, young children at that, and I can't even imagine how the parents felt. Knowing your child already had some type of disability and from getting teeth pulled that didn't need to, would have an issue from it for the rest of their life.

Smol Potato Yea, I saw something on the news like that a few years ago. There was a dentist who would preform painful, and I mean painful, procedures on children (I don't remember if it was specifically kids but I think it was) without anesthesia or any sort of numbing. Some even got teeth pulled. He wouldn't let the parents of the kids come in for whatever reason was convenient and I don't think he would prescribe painkillers either. He was obviously arrested and his license was revoked, but it's so disturbing and cruel to even think about. Some people are sick.

there was a pediatric dentistry that would preform *extremely* painful surgeries on kids, they wouldn't clean their utensils and would go through the kids like an assembly line. it was called Kool Smiles, which is a sketchy name to begin with. the worst part is that the parents would be completely oblivious, and they were paying the company UNGODLY amounts of money just for them to fuck up their kid's teeth more and more. a 2 year old girl died because of the heartlessness of this company, they would just bring the kids into a room and fuck their teeth up, one by one, never cleaning their utensils, and just doing some of the most inhumane things imaginable to these kids. it sickens me to no end

I've just realised how creepy this is! The prequal 'NOVOCAINE' is about the doctor, he says he's one anyway, and hyperdontia is about the patient! [Long comment coming whoops] So yeah this song came out a long ago but I just found it recently, this is just a theory and y'all might think this is a stretch but I couldn't help building a story for these characters. So, let's begin from the start: Toothy Hurty (I'll call them TH) has hyperdontia. Let's say this started affecting TH since their teeth began to appear, since early childhood. TH parents were scared, they were thinking their baby wouldn't live a normal life having more teeth than normal, so they take TH to a dentist. This becomes regular, every month or so, TH goes to the dentist, the dentist pulls the extra teeth. But then, the dentist becomes tired of doing this regularly and not being paid, since TH are paying the dentist with "appreciation". So, the dentist becomes sadistic. They lower the dose of anesthesia to the point TH feels every teeth being pulled, feels all the pain. But, if TH says anything, the dentist says they never did anything to deserve this hatred, that all this fucked up memories are side effects from the anesthesia. And, remember, this been happening since TH was very, very young. This trauma is so strong that they have amnesia after some years, and my theory is that TH developed Dissociative Identity Disorder. DID is a Disorder that appears on people with severe childhood trauma, it makes your personality split in separate states of personality, and that happens only if your personality wasn't fully developed. In my theory, TH has at least two alters, one of them being the host, Toothy Hurt, who's not fully human, since they can survive lacking their lower jaw, and a persecutor, The Dentist. But anyways, this is just a theory. A GHOST/Creep-p theory.

Honestly I'm super thankful of GHOST and other vocaloid producers. Music like this has gotten me through difficult years. Even the songs of GHOST's past, even if they embarrass them now, they helped me feel less sad in a time when I was feeling bad pretty much 24/7 . 4 years ago, I heard this song and hyperfocused on GHOST for a very long time since hearing it. I still absolutely love GHOST's songs and stories told through the songs. Their songs help me cope with trauma, depression, psychosis and other issues I have. This song actually helped me process some traumatic experiences and memories I was going through at the time and helped me break free from the situations and recover. It helped me realize that although it really hurts, it is up to me to decide what to do with these memories. Do I let these people from years ago keep hurting me as I wish to remove these memories, or do I push through it and find better ways to cope? It helped me look outside of the box I was stuck in. Guys! This seems like more like a prequel! You see, in novocaine, the doctor has a line going where their top and bottom jaw meet, and this character has a simialr look, this is the doctor when they were younger, their doctor was bad and removed their jaw but they reattached it, but they're still In so much pain that they spread it to others with the same infection(hyperdontia, witch is probably what the person had), hence why in novocaine, the doctor rips the patients jaw off. This song doesn't have any dark abusive meaning behind it. This was LITERALLY written because Creep-p's old job was pulling teeth from patients who have Hyperdontia. There used to be a comment that had been pinned by GHOST that was Creep-p saying "I can't believe someone wrote a song about my old job." I don't know what happened to it, but yea it was a comment made from Creep-p. No abusive theme. Just Creep-p's old job.
