I think that they shouldn’t even have a v6 option on a “muscle car”….the reason so many people get excited about them and feel the way they do is because they had bada$$ big engines that go fast and rumble. The v6’s don’t rumble, they don’t go any faster than most family cars that tote kids because the engine is unimpressive. So everything that made a muscle car what they are, the v6 has none of. Their posers…get an accord
@SovereignKnight743 жыл бұрын
I knew the Camaro had the advantage due to horsepower and lighter weight, but what I am surprised is the actual results between the two. Considering the Challenger is 500bls heaver and 25 less horsepower, a -25 sec. difference is actually quite impressive. I'd still preferer a v8 trim Challenger over a v6 trim of course. With that, the Pentistar V8 is producing some surprising results. The Camaro V6 produces 284bls feet of torque, and the Pentistar, 268. For the Pentistar to have less torque and less horsepower and only have a -25 sec deficit is quite impressive! Excellent comparison video Racer X! Great job!

I have always hated the look of the new Camaros, it's like they tacked on every body cue from all the older ones and it doesn't work for me. I'd take the Challenger on looks alone even if it's slower. I think they claimed my 06 Charger RT was supposed to do 0 to 60 in about 5.5 seconds with 350hp and a bunch of torque so that Camaros engine is probably pushing what they claimed, just less torque. You should try the 4 banger turbo just to see how it runs. Might be a good option for folks that like the body style but want much better mpg in a daily with some power as well. Hell, I wish I could get better than low 12 average in my car but I love how well it moves for such a pig when I get on it occasionally. I turned the traction control partially off and went to go around a very slow garbage truck because I had two lanes and it dropped a couple of gears and I swear started to haze the tires as it got to work, surprised me as it was dry and hot that day 😎

I have to laugh when people put base model cars down because more base models are sold than higher level trims. When it comes to these 2 cars, it depends on what you want. If you want a car that handles well and you're into more spirited driving, go with the Camaro. The Camaro has its drawbacks and it can one feel somewhat claustrophobic when driving it and the backseat is almost completely useless. If you want a daily, go with a Challenger or Charger. These are very comfortable, smooth riding cars, offer good visibility, and a back seat that is useful. As the owner of a V6 Mustang, I've owned mine for 7 years and I really like it. I bought the car for myself and I really don't need anyone's approval when it comes to choosing a car. I take it to the dragstrip and have a blast with it. I Procharged my car and you should see the expression on people's faces when they find out it runs 11s.

Not the typical scenario from what I've personally seen, but nice comparison nonetheless. I have a 2018 RS V6, and have raced a few cars including a newer Charger Daytona 5.7. In those particular runs it was basically dead even overall. On the V6 Camaro I've found best results are achieved by turning off the advanced traction control and foot braking till 1500-2000 rpm, then controlling wheelspin with your right foot. Makes a huge difference in the 0-60 times. I know the on-board timer is different, but I've got a best of 5.1 a few times on stock tires.

Same. I also have a dragy and my best 0-60 is a 5.2

@@chriscole4717 Sounds like the draggy is very close to the on-board timer then. Mine also ran a best of 13.6 at 104 at the track. 9 times out of 10 a V6 Camaro will walk a V6 Challenger pretty bad, but as we all know anything can happen on the street like this

@RC-jg2fz3 жыл бұрын
@@chriscole4717 If he did brake boost on the Challenger and not on the Camaro, that would definitely make a big difference. Plus, as you probably know, if you brake boost on the Camaro with traction control on, it will cut power really bad. Hard to say what's really happening here, but in a completely fair comparison there is solid 1 second difference (or close to it) between these cars. I mean just go and watch videos between a V6 and 5.7 V8 Challenger/Charger, and that's how it should be when compared to the V6 Camaro, since that is a drivers race with the 5.7

Nice video man! Not many people put the time or effort into these models. You do have the RS options package on the camaro. on those 0-60 runs you also stalled on the converter on the challenger you could here the RPM's before you launched which you didnt do in the camaro but the camaro would have just spun had you anyways. V6 Camaro typically runs in that 5.4 range, Challenger 6.5. The camaro's 5.87 run was uphill to the Challenger runs being downhill so that will contribute slightly. Not sure why run 2 and 3 were slow on the camaro as he didn't show the dragy screen, porbably even more uphill.
