Couldnt you make a mount from the engine block instead of the hard mount?
@t-t5374 Жыл бұрын
Could just run a straight pipe from wastegate instead of routing to exhaust 👍
@draggonhedd Жыл бұрын
Honestly why have that whole exhaust after the turbo? Just run it out the side of the bumper, way less weight and complexity. Honestly this is hot rodding as fuck, and I love the manifold, it and it looks like its gonna flow great. You did a great job with it. Get it painted up or ceramic coated or something and it will go fast as fuck. Go on ebay and find a broken trombone or something to cut the bell off to use as a turbo inlet lmao.
@NeverLetOff Жыл бұрын
Might want to consider another flex joint for the wastegate since you have one on the turbo. Becase the wastegate is hard mounted with the turbo as it is now.
@Ontheregz Жыл бұрын
I concur. If the wastegate was dumped it would be ok, but with the recirc those pie cut welds will definitely crack or break right off.

a grinder and paint fixes all welds. theres also Cerakote and or wrapping it, which will keep the heat in the pipes.
@caveone-365 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Keeping the heat inside the piping not only reduces under hood temps which is always welcome on a boosted setup, but it has been known to give you a little extra power. 😁

I would simply wrap both manifolds and everything up to the turbo and the up-pipe, no one will know what the welds look like and it keeps the heat for better spool, to wrap everything should only cost about $30

It all looks pretty dang good Preston! Don’t worry about how the welds look. As long as they’re strong enough. That’s all that matters. People are gonna talk smack. Ssooooo just a thought. You have a flex connector on the feed to the exhaust onto the turbo. Will you need a flex connector for the blow off line if it's feeding into the exhaust side of the turbo. Just seems odd that you have two pipes coming from the engine and one is flexed but the other pipe is not.

Getting better every time is the name of the game, if you guys wanna really maximize your set up you need your headers to be equal length or close to it .. .. the front header you could’ve come out with a 120° bend towards the trans then make the 180°+\-back towards the torno amd it would’ve gave you a pretty straight shot to the turbo w the collector .. just my .69¢ 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@GARAGEIdiotS Жыл бұрын
We thought about that but didn’t know if adding a 180 bend was work going equal length, kinda sounded like robbing Peter to pay Paul ya know?
@travisschulz6342 Жыл бұрын
@@GARAGEIdiotS I get what your thought process is but you’re using mandrel bends mostly so it wouldn’t hurt anything I bet you’d gain 15-20hp and that turbo would spoil prob 10-15% faster and much harder .. any time you add length to your runners you’re adding velocity inside the exhaust which is gonna spool that wutang whistle to the moon .. it’s just about making the exhaust pulses match so the set up is running as efficient as possible … what you did is going to 100% work just trying to help ya push the envelope :) I’ve been doing this along time and enjoy watching your progress
