@Teuvil Best thing to do for someone who is just getting into the mod thing is to find a 8.8 rear end from a GT with either 3.73s or 4.10s in it and get a tuner. You'll definitely feel that more than anything else. It makes the car SO much more fun to drive

It'll help in the lower rpm for takeoff, if you don't rev your Mustang too high that often. A friend of mine has stock duals on his 99 Mustang V6, not sure the size it looks like 2"-2.25" and it has an H-pipe it in, takes off pretty well. For higher rpm power an x-pipe would help since the way it's designed the openings are large and it's easier for the exhaust to take the path of least resistance and merge.

Look at the firing order. As a cylinder on one bank fires, the same one on the opposite bank will fire creating even back pressure. That is, unless you have a problem within the engine such as weak spark or low compression.

@chaks07 The Thrush welded series are identical to the Flow 40s, so get Thrush. It's not too loud in the cabin, the only time there is drone is when you're at exactly 2000 RPMs. I love it.

Get an H-pipe welded in, it'll sound deeper and just as loud, it merges the exhaust pulses making it scavenge better for more torque. For $30 what could be better than more power and sound?

The 2nd clip included a slow rev to 3000 rpm then a rev to 5250, pretty much no ricey sound.

@papispitfuk This video was just dual mufflers and divorced pipes. Rather than having an H or X pipe, it was two separate pipes. Go to Jegs and look at the Thrush mufflers 2.25 in/out offset in and out. I don't know the part number

you went with standard sized pipes right? if you would've went with the 2.5" pipes you would've gotten rid of most of that popping sound went the rpms drop its all that shitty back pressure but sounds good!! i plan on getting a similiar setup 2.5in pipes, divorced duals with no name straight through welded mufflers =]

Just got a stock 2002 V6 a month ago. Putting new tires on it (16 inch stock for the lose). I honestly have NO IDEA where to begin. I'm doing it as a hobby only so if anyone has any ideas, hook me up!

It's your car, that's fine i'm just making a suggestion. Maybe i've never delt with an even firing engine, because every V-type engine i'd have responded well to a crossover pipe. How do you know which engines are even firing or not?

Eh, even firing engines such as the 3.8 Ford motors don't need an H. They flow rather well on their own. And low end power is the least of my worries, I've got 4.10's in a 5 speed :D

An H-pipe really don't help the 3.8L V6 all that much. It is an even firing engine. Past 2500RPMs or so the H-pipe acts like just like divorced pipes since the gases can't make the 90 degree turn into the midpipe.

It's cuz i am going to put a Roush stage 3 body kit on mine and the exhaust tip come out from the side just below the left and right rear tires....do you think if I divorce dual them the guy from the muffler shop will be able to bend them to where they belong? I have flowmasters but he said I needed glasspacks cuz the flows r too in the back and he can't bend the pipes to the front :/
