This sounds great :) But if you don't already know, the 3.8 is the biggest POS ever made. And I'm not saying that because of being a V-8 guy. I'm saying that because every 3.8 in existence will blow the head gaskets. Around 5k miles from the head gaskets, the timing cover gasket takes a crap. (More coolant into the crankcase) And finally after you've fixed those issues, another 10k miles and the rod bearings go (because of the coolant dumped in before) From a Ford Master tech, sell it soon

@ROBBY639 Wrong. "The first generation Mustang launch was preceded by two concept cars. The First concept car derived its power from a V4 Engine and seated two. This machine was unveiled in 1962. The second concept car was launched in 1963, and it seated four passengers. The Mustang derived its power from a wide choice of engines. The engines were a 2.8-liter OHV; a 3.3-liter OHV; a 4.3-liter OHV V8; a 4.7-liter V8; a four-barrel 289 engine and at the last a four-barrel 289."

The right exhaust set up makes all the difference. Inline sixes can sound like an old truck with a single pipe, but sound fantastically angry with 6-3-2 headers and divorced duals through straight-through mufflers. V6s, particularly 90 degree V6s, sound pretty good with chambered mufflers, but can get pretty raspy/"ricey" with true duals. Even out the exhaust pulses on a crossplane V8 (via special headers) and it'll sound like a pissed-off four banger. Search "V8 Corolla cruising."

@scorpionfights Bone stock to the paper filter I made 170rwhp. With cam, intake, tune, and UDPs I made 212. It's misleading because my stock manifolds were cracked and throwing my AFR WAY off. I believe when I fixed that it was around 225. With the LTs and no cats, it was right around 230-235.

Oh yes it did lol. I remember one 2004 Mustang that I put 4 engines in alone. They will all fail the same way and they all do. The 4.2 in the F150's was the same disaster (based on the 3.8) The same thing happened in Windstars etc. The issue is the design of the block/head configuration. It has nothing to do with the intake setup. I was a dealership mechanic for many years. I made a living off of all the 3.8/4.2 head gasket / timing cover / engine replacements in every year they were made

@TheAnonymousFilm I did the cam, Windstar upper intake, and 42% underdrive pulleys at the same time and made 42rwhp over stock, even with a cracked manifold. I would assume with stock manifolds you'd make about 220rwhp (I made 170rwhp bone stock) and with LTs and no cats, around 230.

only 500 characters!!! The coolant passages were changed to improve the problem, but it still existed. For instance, just google 02 F150 4.2L head gasket / timing cover problem. This also had the improvised design, but was a monumental disaster. The early sables/taurus (95/96) were lucky to go 50k before popping. The later years were lucky to make 150k, and you were lucky to reach 100k in a truck. The truck especially, was insta milk shake in the crankcase. I've literally done 1000 of em
