Installed mine today. Everything is great quality and the direct cable to the handbrake lever is a great revision. Piece of piss to install on the ground in the driveway. You’ve done really well to provide this option for those of us that require a better solution.

are you planning to do a kit for a 79 series it might save me the trouble of working it out for myself

Is on the cards but wouldn't be for a while as it's a full redesign for those transfer cases. I've already kinda worked it out and taken measurements etc

Can you buy parts separately if you break something or di you have to buy the full kit again, Thanks
@boostedbuiltgarage

Can sell spare parts but they'll cost a bit more because I'll have to break up a kit and then have one off bits made to replace. Shouldn't be breaking anything anyway

Hey mate been watching for years, absolutely love your work! The surf build has been my favourite by far, I want to buy the rear disk conversion kit but I have a question, would you be able to tell me weather my 15x8 -19 rims will clear them?!

Thanks bud! Appreciate the support! I can't guarantee, but they will not fit directly BUT with some slight shaving of the corner of the caliper they will prob fig. I have test fit 15x10 -44 which sit the same as 15x8 -22. They are sooo close, just need a slight shave of the caliper. If you go to my website I show the part that needs to be shaved in a pic

How far out from the t-case does the calliper sit? I'm just trying to figure out if it will clear my exhaust.

@@boostedbuiltgarage thanks, mine is a V6 with a modified crossover pipe that goes just behind the transfer case I'll measure it tomorrow to see if this would fit without another exhaust mod.

Turns out there's not enough room, but when i eventually re-do the exhaust I'll make sure it sits further back.

I fitted this kit on my Mk 4 1999 crew cab a few weeks ago. It was very easy to fit without the benefits of ramps etc. I adjusted as per the video once fitted but it did get very hot after a 400 yard trial so I slackened it off to the max (ie so the shoes were in the loose-est position) but there is still some slight contact as the disc still gets hot. This is still the case with the lever sitting on the stop so I can’t slacken off any r than thismore. I have emailed a couple of times as I am not one to write bad reviews and would rather work with the seller to resolve problems, but the old shoe brakes work better than this kit. Maybe I am doing something wrong and stupid, bu

T I can’t see what that might be. The end result is that I am thinking of going back to original shoe mechanism unless I can somehow sort this one out. Do I need new pads given the originals hot hot ?

I haven't seen any emails about this from anyone so not sure what's going on there. Where are you adjusting the slack? The cable adjustment or the piston? It kind of sounds to me like your transfer case might have a different pinion offset height to most, thus is probably lower and constantly dragging on the pad closest to the transfer case. When you say "shoes" I'm assuming you mean pads?

Dude call toyota and do a vin recall. Your missing your centre bearing bracket. They put it on for free, centre bearing fail and your shaft drops, especially if you 4wd or drive on corrugated rocks
