Got this for my kiddo. Love this dang thing! First plane was AeroScout mini. Honestly,id say this is better for rookies comparing the two. The gyro function makes it so much easier to enoy flying for veginners. My 8year old loves it

The initial climb makes me think the battery should have been farther forward. I did not know the 959 did not have gyros. I'm glad I did my research first. I almost bought it and would have been disappointed. I want one for training friends, so gyros are a must.

The 959 doesn't have gyros but it does have auto leveling, cost half the price, and is bigger.

I put the tiny AKK A1-OSD AIO FPV camera on the nose of mine, it's fun! This camera gives me flight time+pilot name+voltage in the OSD which is nice. Needed two 1" screws into the rear of the fuselage to offset the weight.

I forgot to ask you but do you feel the EPP foam on the Volantex RC is better than the EPO foam on the sky king? I was just wondering what you thought about these two types of foam. Also, did you feel on the Volantex model that the transmission distance was too limited with that 100m distance as advertised? Thanks again. I am on the verge of ordering one or the other today.

What are the main differences between the ranger 600 and 400....is it just size or are there other features that 600 has over the 400?

Does it fly without the motor running? If it doesn't fly very long or very far without the electric motor running, then how can it be labeled and classified as a glider? A true glider (sailplane), is designed to fly almost continuously without a motor by only using thermolifts' and air waves.

That volantex stabiliser is pretty good and the range of planes is also pretty neat. One question though. The original 761-1 allowed one to do loops in the mid-stabilised mode and yet on both this review and the previous 761 review you switched into the manual setting to do that(?) Have they changed the settings or were you just demonstrating the manual mode?

In the review of the V761-3 Piper Cub, I switched it to mid-stabilized mode and it wouldn't let me roll it. I automatically assumed that it wouldn't let me loop it also. But really, all of these V761's are great trainer planes. The stabilization systems are neat, but not really needed. Simply letting go of the pitch roll stick quickly levels them from their dihedral alone.

Can't disagree with that last The stab systems are great for beginners as a confidence booster but hardly necessary unless the wind gets feisty. I have to admit I never did manage to roll my Trainstar in any mode except when getting it to launch upside down. But I was looping it on the first flight in stab 2

has anyone tried modifying one of these? They fly decently with the assists off, but it needs a little more rudder and elevator authority. More deflection would be nice, But I am considering adding 1/4" length to the control surfaces. But I worry that maybe the tiny servos won't move larger control surfaces. But if they could, that would grant it much more control.

I have a question. I just bought one of these and the elevator controls seam to be working in reverse. When I pull back it goes down, when I push forward it goes up. Is there any way to change this?

Yes, and it should be an easy fix too. Connect the plane to the controller, but do not arm the motor yet with an up/down on the throttle sick. Instead hold the elevator stick up or down and hold it in that position for a few seconds until you hear a beep (that should reverse the control). Then arm the motor with an up down movement of the throttle stick to set the controls. It should work normally now. Note that the other controls for yaw and roll can similarly be reversed in the same manner.

I bought one today and I listing an hour after I got it as it wouldn't turn and the gyros are a curse as it flew 7.8 miles away because the bloody gyros kept it in the air. I will never get one of these gliders again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is considering it
