I've get the exact same 304, Transmission setup in a CJ-5. Did a complete rebuild of both of you want to compare notes.

Right on man! Id be curious what clutch you went with and if you did new master and slave cylinders

@@JeepinJimmy I'm using the standard clutch. I guess it's a heavy duty pressure plate with only 3 fingers. I'm still using the original bellcrank clutch linkage setup, but I used all new parts.

@@JeepinJimmy It's a '80 CJ-5 that I've had since High school. It had the 4.2L when I bought it, but it was mated to that T-15 3-speed. Pretty sure that wasn't factory. I came across a CJ-7 with a 304 that had rolled over in a junk yard and got the whole rolling chassis for $300, so I swapped out the engine.
