I’m reading the instructions right now, it says to install the “medium spacer” on the straight shank of the tie rod end as a starting point. The medium spacer would be the smaller one in the middle. You used the 2nd one down out of 5 total spacers. I would think the “medium” one would be the 3rd one down. That’s the one in the middle of the stack of spacers.

I have wiring diagrams if you want or need them. Bump steers are the way to go some extended ball joints would do you some good too.

I think mine will have the same issue. I'm going to check around to see if any shops can make it right.

Any videos on the finished product of the headman headers? Curious if you ran them inside the frame rail & how they turned out.
@304customsgarage2 жыл бұрын
The plan is to run them inside the frame rails yes. That will be an upcoming video I do soon actually! I want to get the headers and part of the exhaust finished enough so I can send it out for coating.

@@304customsgarage got ya, bout to do a top end job on my 90 s-10 & header options in 1 3/4 are about non existent. It’s basically build your on or use the headman fender wells etc My concern with them being on a street/strip truck is being extremely close to fire wall, control arm movement ( trick springs ) and if the tire will scrub them.
@304customsgarage2 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell just from having them mounted up now they are close to the firewall yes but hoping the coating will help keep the heat down from them. They are really close to the factory brake booster as well. I haven't not tested it yet to see how far the front wheels can turn before hitting the headers but they will certainly with a sharp enough turn of the steering wheel. I have 15x4's and a 26x7.5 on the front.

@@304customsgarage brake booster issue want be a problem for me as I deleted it & went with manual. My front wheels I guess will be my major concern now. I have 15x4 wheels on the front with 27 tall & 6 in wide tires

Any noticeable issues with toe alignment?

@@304customsgarage I havent taken it to get a propper front end alighnment yet.We used Turbo Johns video on how to set bumpsteer with a tape measure to get a base setting. Go look at his video here on youtube. I did drive the truck the other day after I installed the bump steer and the truck drove perfect surprisingly. I am still looking around for someone who can do a propper alignment though. I was surprised my drive shaft bolted right up after the 8.8 install. The yoke isnt as deep into the trans as it was but is for sure in there deep enough. Have a TH350 in there right now but am building a Th400 in case I go with the 400 sbc. You said your drive shaft was too short? How long do you need have you measured yet?
@304customsgarage2 жыл бұрын
I will check out his video I've watched some of his stuff before so I'll probably do it that way also for now. I haven't actually measured it but did mock it up and like you said it didn't go in as far (my reasoning thinking it was too short). Maybe it doesn't need to go in as far as I thought? As always glad to hear the feed back and passing along info that helps.

@@304customsgarage I think the trick is getting enough toe in to keep her going straight but not so much toe in that you are eating up your tires. I wouldnt over complicate it. I did find an alignment guy thats says he knows how to do the alignment on it. I probably wont take it to him for awhile. Maybe in the spring after I get the new engine in it.
