Did spray painting the carpet work?
@304customsgarage2 ай бұрын
For the small areas of carpet on the door panels it seems ok. it did stiffen it up somewhat though. I think if it wasn't on a door panel like that I would 2nd guess it because of using more to cover an area and therefore would stiffen it up more. Seems to be somewhat durable however so time will tell how it holds up.
@BigBluePile2 ай бұрын
@304customsgarage time will tell. I've tried using RIT dye on door panels and it doesn't work great.

Did you change the housing end for 9in or leave stock end
@304customsgarage2 ай бұрын
I kept the stock ends so using the c clips. If I would do it again probably do the 9in ends or just use a 9in rear. People seem to be using 8.8 rears as they are with no issues though.

I'm building a motor that is similar to yours it's a 350 30 over stock crank eagle connecting rods eagle domed Pistons, private build intake manifold, similar to the air gap, a little bit higher than that haven't decided if I want to use a 670 avenger carburetor 750 double pump vacuum secondary. It's a complete roller motor first time building . The complete motor. I've always built from the top end up. But this one I decided to build completely. Had it machined. I'm using vortec heads all new valves and springs. But I'm stumped on the camshaft because of the clearance of using the stock heads. Machine shop sayes the highest lift should be no larger than 475. I would like the engine to sound like yours with a distinctive chip in the idle. Engine is going in a 1991 GMC Sierra. That I bought as a roller. Truck is immaculate. With all my other projects I have been patient with this build. And I want to make the right decision when choosing the camshaft. Some advice please I would be very thankful. Or call me 239-383-1655. Thanks Tommie

WRONG on pinion angle info., You want the transmission pointed down 2-4* more than rear end as the rear end gears climb upwards not downwards, So if you have the transmission at say 2* pointed down the rear end needs to be pointed down 4-6*, The way your explaining it the pinion angle is going to be positive NOT negative which will bind

Hpop, IPR, ICP, FICM and all 4 Left bank injectors replaced this year. New fuel pump last year. Ran fine for about 3 months. Now it won't crank when hot. Replaced the fuel filters after the no start issue. There is a crimped fuel return line done by the shop who did the work. I hope to replace that tomorrow. I'm skeptical because the line was that way when it ran fine. I can't put much more money into a 2003 truck.

So, you have the frame supported by jack stands. You put floor jack under axle. Now, just how much "up" did you put on axle. Reading this step in institutions. It's not clear just how much. Thanks
