Looking forward to the de-rice video of this series. The doorstop falling off was a good start.

Tip for mocking up exhaust and other tubing. Grab some pool noodles cheap garden hose and some lengths of stiff wire. Try the pool noodle in where you need to put a pipe to see if it will fit the area and bend to suit etc. Then run a bit of the hose down the noodle and some of the wire in the hose. You should now be able to bend and join the noodles and have them retain the bends so you can use them as a template.

Make your own intake from scratch, using a weld-on MAF flange.When it comes time to go to an aftermarket ECU, just leave the MAF in place to blank the hole.

You could design a cold air intake system, where the filter is located in a more remote and convenient position? Great job, Jeff. I really enjoy your work. Dave

The Roxster is gonna be beltin'-out Iron Maiden at 120dB with that exhaust 🤘🔥 I'd love to see a hardtop in place ($$$). Thanks again for the upload 😻

If its too loud, a quick fix is to make some J pipes. and if its a track only car, make that air filter get or in the cold air = free HP.

It's a fire engine! 🚒 Yeah, 2ft straight pipe, that's exhaust is probably going to be pretty loud Jeff.🙉 Nevertheless it doesn't matter if it's nasty it's a track car it's going to get hard use. .. I am going to suggest that original Audi ECU is probably still ok, unless you actually see it let the smoke out? As someone mentioned in the last Roxster vid, USB is 5Vdc. Audi ECU 12V - your laptop took the hit but the ECU was powered correctly. Still might be worth getting someone to [check it's working] re-flash the original ECU just so you can get the engine running. Good stuff!👍

bit of a Db hack, point the exhaust tips to the ground, most measurements are done above or at hip level and the tarmac, especially hot tarmac will absorb a lot of the output. Do it here in Ontario where I built a lot of catless/open muffler rotorys and it hack takes about 15 Db off the high end of the range.

Geoff do you really need the Air Flow meter with the Link ECU? Easier tune without it.
@deetesmin
@deetesmin 2 жыл бұрын
If you're goin to use an aftermarket ecu, why do you need an airflow meter? You just need inlet temp and pressure plus a throttle body.

Mate you know that you need the ignition key the speedometer and the factory ecu of the audi to start the car because the immobilazer. or you have put another aftermarket ecu to be able to start the engine.

Just as an observation, when you're re-fitting your engine instead of lowering and raising the hoist to try to fit the engine, potentially damaging something, (could you have the hoist set lower and use the lift trolley to raise the engine into place?? Or am I missing something?
