Can't believe you cut that front clip. That was worth alot money. Other than the dent in the bed, you had a nice square body. Alot of people are building them and looking for parts

40 years Ago my brother in law and I put a LT1 350 in a Massey 44. It cost $13.98 for a coupling chain and sprocket, and steering was a nightmare. But it would wheelie in every gear, and do 60MPH. Very scary.

We had serveral 44's and the governor went out of one and it would go over 30 in road gear. Scary isn't the word.

Maybe you haven't heard what old Chevy square bodies are going for.
@uthermaceanruig5098 Жыл бұрын
I’ve got a Massey Harris 44 with a 283 Chevy in it. It has a three speed GM manual gearbox between the engine and tractor transmission. Didn’t have to lengthen the frame and all the sheet metal fits like it should. It’s got 3pt hitch, pto, hydraulics and power steering. It’s actually quite a handy tractor. Will probably swap the 283 for a bigger small block. The 283 is pretty tired. But ya use what you happen to have on hand when tinkering in the shop. Enjoyed watching your video. Good job 👍.

I am damn sure I saw this series a few years ago. I can’t explain it, but you rigged up a throttle style lever for the automatic transmission shift linkage, extended the frame rails to accommodate the engine and transmission, and had to reinforce the frame because it kept twisting. I can’t remember the channel name, but I’ve seen the same guy, same truck, same tractor, and heard the same voice.

Chevy looks to be a 350, with a th350 and np208 t case! Ive got a reversed w9 with a 302 ford and auto trans (2wd). It looks that you put the tractor trans in reverse to make the auto trans correct for you're direction of drive!

Apparently you've never been to the National Farm Machinery Show's annual tractor pull in Louisville, KY, lol. They have some pretty wicked John-Deeres there. :) If your main tractor has a generator on it then it'll take it much longer to charge a dead battery than if it has an alternator. Our old John Deere "A" and "H" were both like that. They charge pretty slowly but when they were built it was assumed you'd be out in the field with it all day and by then the battery would be well charged.

I did this with an old f-20 internation farmall. Took a 266 internation v8, a chrysler 904 auto, extended the frame and converted the driveshaft, so had the 4 in tractor and the 3 in auto. now it travels at about 20 at 4000 rpm. not great but better than 5 1/2 mph
