Sir I’m a veteran and I have a federal lawsuit against the VA, I’d love to tell you my story.
@fredvanarnam6080Ай бұрын
@@DewayneKimble unfortunately that is not the end of the story. A couple of years go by and I get a message that someone from the finance office in Tampa wants to see me. Very bi secret, no information over the phone. So we make an appointment. Appointment arrived I challenge the person for credentials, he doesn’t need to see mine at all. Have an old high school friend visiting, he proceeded to fill out all of the paperwork asking for her I D again I offered mine, was told not needed. All said and done he leaves. She starts reading me the paperwork and I am now no longer in control of my own money, she is in control of all of my disability payments. Now the instructions are that she has to set up a bank account in her name, not mine, she has to make arrangements to pay all of my bills from my account. Excuse me, but I went blind, NO STUPID. I have a very good relationship with my military credit union and they paid all my bills without question. So she struggles with this and me for several months and decides she has to move out. So she moves up the road 50 miles and now taking care of my money becomes a Hugh burden in her life. I am a PrePaid Legal member of many years. So now as a blind person living alone I start writing letters and making phone calls. Calls to my regular doctor, calls to my new eye doctor, call to my banking manager and calls to my lawyers. While this is going on my lady friend calls Tampa expressing her wish to NO LONHER BE INVOLVED WITH MY MONEY OR MILITARY PROBLEMS. Their reply to her is “This is just another stupid dumba#$ military person I have to take care of “- Excuse me, just what is your JOB. Nine months later I find my disability check in my mail box. No apology, no letter no phone call, just in your face there it is. Thank the lord I have had no more problems with my money and the VA staff

@DaOldHead veterans are worth more than any doctor. So what if they went to school and got a degree? All of us veterans have enslaved ourselves to the protection of this ungrateful country and its people. They would rather show more gratitude for someone who serves tables than this country without limit. Unlike everyone else in the United States, we don't get the option to quit when things turn bad or when we have second thoughts. If we do, our side could legally take our lives or freedom from us! When we mess up in our job, it's our life that is on the line. When you, the doctor, messes up, it is your insurance that pays your punishment for you. Then I started having to book them with Veterans Evaluation Services. HORRIBLE!!!!They cal with an appointment and don't even ask if I can make it. I call them back to reschedule, they take another week or two to call back with a new one. I ask them to book me a new one while on the phone, nope. They just make the calls to the vets. They don't even have a number for the schedulers. Email only is how they set appointments. I was done again!!! I'm sick of the B.S. Just to get the care for issues I was put through. I'm trying again now because my issues have only gotten worse now after almost 20 years after I left the Marines.

In 2010 while in college, I started my claims process again since I had the money from my GI Bill and close by a VA clinic. Of all the medical facilities in Tulsa, they were sending me on another 200 mile round trip to OKC to a QTC clinic for my exams. Classes and QTC only being on weekdays, I had to retake 3 classes at $3k a piece due to missed time going to OKC. They even started canceling my appointments even though I confirmed I was going to be there. I found this out after I showed up and spent what little money I had in gas and depended on the travel check to make it back to Tulsa. They told me to go talk to the VA hospital for travel reimbursement. That was when I became one of the 1st whistle blowers about the conditions of the OKC VA. At least 30 elder [70's to 90's] veterans and spouses waiting in a long hallway for help covered in their own piss and 💩. No more wheelchairs or seats were available. The wailing and cries of pain was terrifying and heartbreaking. Meanwhile across the street was a big beautiful private hospital with an empty patient parking lot while the VA's was so full I had to park at the private hospital across the street. I didn't have a good phone for pics or video. But the next day I called every news station in OKC & Tulsa then called Rush Limbaugh and Shawn Hannity. That was the point I gave up again on my claims again.

Many times I go to the VA hospital for appointments, I most always get an attitude from the receptionist and other VA employees working the desks. It’s a shame, people fight for their country and get disrespected. I also work at disabled veterans long term care facility and there’s no place I’d rather be working. Some people need to choose another profession. It’s a shame.

They apologized and dealt with the employee, but there is so much more. I have been having problems with the VA system and been trying to contact the Chief Experience officer multiple times, even through the Advocate and her co workers and still no call, Even during the TOWN Hall meeting I brought this up to the prescreener and notified them I need to talk to the director and still nothing, Even today talking with a employee with WBAMC I was treat with rudeness and hung up on. There is defiantly a problem here, I am fighting. I have been dealing with this for almost a year

Even when she asked me why I did not order my pain medication as often as I could. I said because I take a ass prescribed some of my medications are as needed. What are your thoughts on this? I also read her notes on my healthy vet and she did not put anything in there about me having a full-blown PTSD episode to the extent that my service dog had to step in to keep me from getting too upset with her and possibly getting arrested on VA property... She also put in her notes that she wanted to be to give up every bit of aid for walking that the VA prescribed me and wanted me to give up my PTSD medication as well as my Valiums.

Im glad your putting out videos like this. I know working at the VA can probably be frustrating like any other job. But, still have to remember like what was said earlier. If you can’t handle this type of job than be real with yourself and change your career. I get a lot of people like the benefits that working for government brings, but when you can no longer provide service due to maybe mental issues. It’s time to leave, have to remember these Veterans served their country to defend and protect. Now that military service is over which is alot of wear and tear on anyone that served whether mentally or physically. They didn’t go into military that way, the sacrifice of being away from loved ones while deployed so others can live the dream in this great country. I use to hear people who never served say hey they are the ones who joined that’s on them, I want people the next time they think that way about the draft. Do anyone want to go back to the days when you had no choice but to join like other countries do? So imagine when your not of use anymore and all broken from serving being told basically you don’t deserve it. VA even denied me things I claimed and was being seen for while on active duty. Now 10 years later, I find out that I do have the illness that was denied and getting worse. I met a lot of good people who worked for the VA like my Stepmom and friends I served with in military. Sorry for the ramble, just don’t automatically judge someone because of your beliefs. This could affect someone who really needs the help and your actions can cost them. Hope everyone is taking care of.

About 5 weeks ago I had a bad experience at the local VA clinic. I went to one of the check-in clerks who was on the phone, i stood there and didn't interpret her. She in a disrespectful way told me she was on the phone. I told her I need to know where the doctor was i was there to see. She points behind me to stand over there and wait for my turn. That didn't go over well with me, but i didn't say anything. All she had to do is to tell the person she's talking to hold. How many times have you bern on the and the person asked you to hold. What those people don't understand is they have that job because of all the veterans who go to that clinic. Plus, you can contact you congressman to file a complaint. When doing this it's a congressional complaint which goes in their files and their supervisor gets involved and maybe the director of the clinic. How I know, it's because I filed a complaint on one of my doctors.

You are one of the few Vet help channels I subscribe to. Because you don't lie, exaggerate, or spread gossip and rumors. You tell it like it is, and you defend the VA. E.g., Have never heard you call the VA the enemy (like some of those channels always do).

The VA employee who body-slammed the Veteran was on the news. The Veteran hit him with the piece of paper then the VA employee took it to another level. The Veteran was in the wrong but the VA employee went too far. I live in Atlanta and have had some terrible experiences with the VA. From racism to Doctors not believing Veterans plus other nonsense. If not for the Pact Act, I would still be at 30%.

Good evening I had a similar thing happen to me. I had doctor say me when I my six month check up say “I thought to myself nothing is wrong with that veteran until I looked at your medical records”. I also had a V. H.A. employee call my phone and verbally accost me because I appealed his decision.

I work in the Boston VA system. I'm also a veteran. 75% of the employees are there just for the benefits and job security. I have witnessed employees talking down on veterans. And to make it even worse. There are veteran employees of the VA who are guilty as well of that behavior. It's hard to weed out the bad actors. Because of the termination process.

For some people, its always Fraud, fraud, fraud, until it comes to them. We need better citizens. A veteran is a person who has served by volunteering themselves for the freedoms and way of life espoused by this country. For this service, certain understandings are in place. For those vets who have been injured, the country appreciates their service and yes, there could be some accommodations offered for the sacrifice the veteran made. FULL STOP I have experienced some "retaliation" from the VA, but I am hopeful the employees of the VA understand their service in the above and take their work sincerely.

I was at Grotto's Pizza last year and talked to a very drunk man for about 15 minutes. He was about 40-0 pounds as well. Starts with hey how are you and gets into he works for the VA. He then proceeds to tell me none of them deserve it. They are all trash. How he has only a few more years left and then he can retire(won't live long enough to enjoy that). I listen and tell him I am a veteran; he gets a very scared look on his face and then says, well some people deserve it. Mumbled as he was walking away and went into the bathroom. I had a Doc at the VA would deny everyone, she got fired. I had a Doc lie on my report many times. I trust no one at the VA. They do not care about us at all.

I cannot type out all I have had to go through with the VA years after getting 100PT full static. I had a break down during one call, and hung up. They had Su-hot line call me. I was asking for help, and they went to, if you would like to file a complaint . . . . NO, I'm ASKING FOR HELP! Vets know that getting help has the chance of getting reduced if at some point they claim something, like an SMC after 100%P&T. Most of us are just looking for help to live a better life. 53 feeling like 80 SUX!

Dewayne, thanks for your killer videos. You have helped lots of vets including myself. You would not believe the rudeness that I have endured at NCVAHCS. It's pretty bad. From rude GI doctors , rude nurses, threatening VA cops to rude behavior of the men manning the satellite regional office inside Martinez VA outpatient Clinic, I have endured some baloney. All of my conditions, my personal private health hippa information, was spelled out on an awards letter. When I asked the regional office inside MTZ VA, I was yelled at and told to get out of his office. I'm a female veteran. My official VA mail is addressed to Mr... like only guys are vets, right?

I'm 100% P&T for PTSD that was deliberately inflicted on me in the Army. I went through further hell for 8 years with the VA in 2 different states before I got my rating. I'm fortunate to have a wife with private sector healthcare. I've heard the horror stories about VA "mental health" programs and ghost clinics all so they can look good on paper to keep the pols off their balls. My therapist is a veteran so I'm fortunate that we can relate. I don't know if I'll ever be whole again, I suspect I never will and I'm sad about that, but I would literally trade every cent I get in compensation to be so, and that's a fact. These people, while indeed vile and reprehensible, aren't an isolated incident, either with them or in other VA's across the country.

When i was stationed there in El Paso I was told that I probably had high blood pressure because I was "Mexican" 😂, I was a lean 165lbs 21 year old who actually ate healthy. Then I was told that I was too young and not to worry about it. I was later deployed to iraq where I was later struck with an IED. I hit the back of my head hard right under my Kevlar in the blast. I eventually got over it but thenI started getting some headaches and a ringing in my right ear. When I was back and getting ready to get out i told them there in the VA in EL Paso what happened and was told some where along the lines that it's normal to get headaches and slight ringing in the ear. I was so pissed and lost faith in them. They talked to me like i was lying to them and didn't seem to care or believe what i was saying. I was actually not looking for compensation and just wanting to get this documented because I didn't want to have problems in the future. Well, here i am at 40 on blood pressure pills with headaches and some ringing in the ears and nothing documented while in service due to their incompetence.

I say this being a vet just starting process this year every one of my claims other than 1st 10% had to go to HLR and after they finally got it right it seems that maybe some off these raters not all just dont give dang suffering from chronic gastritis started in service and everytime i applied got shut down with in a week ordered my records for that period asked for a HLR and young lady called me and finally got letter say "however we identified a difference of opinion to support your claim. Va will provide you notification of evidence we will obtain to address these errors under a seperate cover. I will tell any vet watching videos to dont give up nobody can tell you how you feel and what you go threw daily greatful for my 80% but if it happened during service again dont give up and as mr kimble says be complete with your information and dont give up sorry for long winded statement if fight for mine road to the top

They really don't care. Just churning out crap to get a check, could care less about accuracy or how it affects the benefit recipients. Went over my claims history a few days ago...sitting at a 76.7% error rate right now with 4 conditions pending, 1 going to the Board and 4 that will have appeals filed. All evidence based. Nearly all errors were due to obvious, verifiable negligence. You expect a certain amount of errors, but when you get denied because of another vet's info used for your opinion, or DROs who don't think that's a problem, or decisions rendered with no opinions sought...that's negligence.
