Václav Vačkář's march "Šohaj" adapted for quintet of double basses.
Good work by my talented students from the generations 2017 until 2018
It was very funny to record the quintets in the forest 😂
(few more videos to come)
Performers (from left to right):
Oskari Hänninen, Božo Paradžik, Madlaina Küng, Cecilia Perfetti and Marko Hristoskov
Vačkář's music is under copyright protection until 2024, please don't ask me for the sheet music.

@@softdaria2220 Oh, I thought there was just one size of the double bass because of the deep and rich low note-sound. Thank you all! Is sad to belive that I'm a composer and I don't even thought that before.

I am surprised and delighted. I have never heard basses played in the woods. A bass is made from wood so it's as if they were going back home . . . In my experience outdoor performances were the most difficult because it was difficult to hear the bass. The sound just seemed to fly away. I always preferred a wall behind me but my experience has been almost exclusively playing in small dance band combos.

The audio for the video was probably recorded separately and then put over the top of the video. No stringed instrument I think sounds good outside, like you said, the sound just flies away.

I have now re-watched it on my computer rather than my phone screen, I just noticed the microphones. Without the microphones picking up the sound then, as I said previously, everything would have just disappeared into the thin air. In my professional experience of having performed outside, the sound is deadened without something for the sound waves to reverberate off.

Intonation should be better on fretless instruments, given the player has lots of practice. Although intonation is generally better on fretted instruments for beginners and intermediate players

@yoloninja4798 5 жыл бұрын
DNtertainment though there are some learning Aids for beginners. Firstly, you can use the tone-tone-tone-semitone structure to help with playing, and secondly you can just put stickers on the fret board there your fingers should go
