Mohg and morgott are each sides of the same coin: reactions to abandonment and abuse. While morgott chose to fawn, to do for the golden order and the erdtree and be accepted, even going so far as to try and cut off his own horns , mohg took the opposite approach. Mohg chose to bite back. He chose to begin his own family, find a new mother, construct his own dynasty in opposition to the one he was born into. Both are sad reflections of real life tragedy.

Often the stories in games are too wild, or too surface level, to really connect on an emotional level. There are multiple story lines in this game that dive into deeper issues in some ways. Like, in this case, child abuse and the paths that the child can take as they grow older.

And there is a Berserk anime, though it’s widely considered it’s not a faithful adaptation of the manga. You’d get the best experience reading it

Yo, great insights! Just want to make it aware. Vaati has a 40 minute video called “Secrets in the Shadow of the Erdtree”. It’s the video that came out before this one, where he goes over the DLC trailer, its descriptions and Miyazaki’s interviews, to discern the true story of Shadow of the Erdtree. I noticed that you were slightly surprised near the end of the reaction where you mentioned that you hadn’t seen the interview. There’s MUCH more lore content than that in the Vaati video that’s specifically dedicated to the DLC. Again, in case you were interested: it’s called “Secrets in the Shadow of the Erdtree”

There's something I just thought about, who's the parents of all of the Omen in the sewers, they have to be related to Royalty they have their horns still Godfrey, Marika, Morgott???

That's a cool thought. I'd hypothesize that there's probably a bunch of people that are royalty in the city. Like the child of a Knight or any person that was named some random royal title.

I heard somewhere that the land of shadows, a name of the place we will go in the DLC was a kind of place where people would go after dying, a kind of afterlife before Queen Marika and Erdtree made everyone to be able to reborn instead. To me it looks like Mohg is trying to use Miquella to claim the land of shadows for himself and then turn it into the new order’s version of hell for everyone to suffer and then rule it as some sort of evil overlord. I mean just look at him he is a textbook image of Satan...and who knows maybe Miquella is trying to make a new order’s version of heaven and then rule it as a benevolent God.

@@kabvrv His quest is perfect for people who just want to PvP and just come to the game to collect talismans and cheese the PvE fast so they can then PvP. Hey maidenless tarnished, yes you, do you hate the basic leveling curve? Yes? Okay then go and kill a few people and I give you something to get to the endgame area in 2 hours 😆
