There is almost no topic in health and health policy that immediately polarizes people more than the idea that vaccines cause autism. Even though the original big paper on this topic came out at the end of the last century, the anger this causes is still raw and potent. But there is a very, very large amount of research showing that vaccines and autism are unrelated. Please, watch the video before you jump down my throat.

I'm autistic and honestly, what we really need is acceptance of autistic people- and I know many autistic people agree with me. Medically? It doesn't affect me. Even autistics who are labeled as "low functioning" often don't care about medical research of autism- in fact, most don't. We fear finding a gene for autism would affect us adversely. What we want is acceptance and help for autistic people-especially adults. We've been assaulted, abused, even killed because we don't fit in.

The amount of mercury those insane lunatics inject would be illegal if it was in a can of tuna fish!!!! The amount allowed in a can of tuna is 250 ppb is the norm in tuna. 2 ppb allowed in water by the EPA. 500 ppb in the norm on a can of white fish. And 51,000 ppb found in 1 flu shot. Also thimerisol is a cancer causing agent. When a full dose of thimerisol alone used to treat something that won't heal,the doctor makes you sign a paper stating that you will not have unprotected sex while on it with photographs. It causes deformaties. Babies can be born with no arms or legs or they are monster like. Squaulene is a parlaysing agent that use to be used in face creams. MSG do not inject.Go ahead if your that fucking stupid!!! Aluminum only a brain dead moron would inject!!! The chemicals in shots can cause serious or bad health effects that may not show up until years later.

If vaccines were so safe the US government would not have taken liability away from the vaccine manufactures as they did in 1986 to present March 2020. As of 1986 you can no longer sue a vaccine manufacture for vaccine injury. You have to sue the US vaccine court. With no liability the vaccine manufactures have made more vaccines mandatory and they are much less safe. In 2016 there were over 59,000 vaccine adverse events reported to through the VAERS reporting system. This included over 400 deaths and 1,300 permanent disabilities. Harvard Medical was asked to look into the VAERS reporting system to see how well it worked and concluded that less than 1% of adverse events were actually reported. Is it possible that there are 40,000 plus deaths each year from vaccines with over 130,000 permanent disabilities. The CDC claims they don't know but the risk of severe reaction is low. The CDC also happens to receive billions every year from the sale off vaccines. Can you spell conflict of interest. Why would we believe anything they say especially when all the evidence points to the opposite of what they say?
@AvNotasian
@AvNotasian 4 жыл бұрын
@@holisticpoet Thats in accurate, the liability is taken away because vaccines are a public health initiative. Also your claims about suing are absurd, there is a small amount of money put aside from every vaccine deployed for compensation, due to such low rates of serious injury the payouts are very very large and only require evidence that the vaccine caused the injury. Your entire speel is nothing but cherry picked information taken out of context for shock value, you should be ashamed of yourself. No one is going to report a mild inflammation around the site of the vaccination, since this amounts to almost all of the adverse events of course only a small number are actually recorded, you are such a dishonest person. There are between 0 - 6 deaths from vaccination in recorded history, Ill say that again BETWEEN ZERO AND 6 DEATHS OVER THE HISTORY OF VACCINATION. As for permanent disability again you are just making stuff up, looking at your numbers its likely you misread vaccines have prevented these deaths and permanent injury. There is no evidence pointing the opposite direction, shut the fuck up you ignorant selfish child murdering liar.

Could you do a video describing the cost/benefit analysis of vaccines? Way too often, I see people attacking vaccines on various grounds; not just the autism issue. I would love to have a go-to video on vaccines in general, and I think the clear-cut reasonable style offered here would be an excellent way to do it. I know it's a big topic, but a concise rebuttal to those awful claims would be very helpful and would do a lot of good. Currently, I refer people to the blog science-based medicine, which is excellent. But that's a text-based site and most people don't seem to have the patience for it. If a nice concise video has been done, refer me to it... if not, I think Healthcare Triage could do a wonderful job of it. All much appreciated.

Here are four ways autistic conditions are caused and confirmed by statements from the current President of pharmaceutical giant Merck's Vaccines Division, by US Government agencies, by the US Federal Court and in formally published academic journal papers. If you read nothing else I strongly recommend you read this PDF Download - [Text of May 5th 2008 email from US HRSA to Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News]. In it the US Health Resources Services Administration [HRSA] state to CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson "We have compensated cases in which children exhibited an encephalopathy, or general brain disease. Encephalopathy may be accompanied by a medical progression of an array of symptoms including autistic behavior, autism, or seizures." childhealthsafety.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/attkisson-cbs-hrsa-email-exchanges-autistic-conditions-vaccines.pdf Vaccine induced encephalopathy can lead to both autistic behavior and autism. It's the same difference only they are using word salad. They can't conceivably concede that vaccines cause encephalopathy but cannot ever cause autism because that would be impossible. Encephalopathy can result in autistic behavior and autism. Vaccines cause autism.

I don't care if adults don't get vaccinated for the wrong reasons. It's kinda sad, but at some point people are responsible for their own stupidity. Kids on the other hand can't and shouldn't have a say in this matter and if adults make stupid decisions about their lives I get really angry.

garreth davis Yes, but whether or not my child is fat has no impact on your child. My child's fatness won't leech on to your child. Whooping cough, on the other hand, is contagious. Imagine: Your child (too young to be vaccinated, whether or not you plan on vaccinating him / her) contracts whooping cough from a child who is old enough to be vaccinated but isn't. Your child then dies from said whooping cough infection. Suddenly is seems relevant whether or not the other child was vaccinated, no?

@Steve Weldon A lot of research is being done on autism, OFC!. And is published all the time every time they find relevant things. And a lot of the evidence seems to point to the same direction: that autism starts to develop in the womb, it's genetic. Not, definitely not because of vaccines or "myriad" of vaccines.
@DP-tk1cd
@DP-tk1cd 10 жыл бұрын
Missy Minx Have you considered that the parents took the MMR and that it genetically mixed with their DNA? I'm not saying it's true but it is a possibility. MMR was introduced in 1971 so people took that okay, and different generations continued taking it afterwards. Then in 1989, the second dose was introduced in 1989 just in time for the outbreak 1989-1991, so for sure people would be all scared and went ahead and took that second dose. So that's double the dose that people took. Now say those people start having babies after they received both doses of MMR. What if there was something in the MMR at that time that was able to alter the DNA in the baby while in the womb? Maybe thimerisol or maybe even Bovine Serum Albumin? They are both toxic. BSA actually contain lead, which is leading cause of learning and behavior disorders. Oh yeah and other vaccines contained BSA so more of a possibility of lead-poisoning. I am not saying any of this is true but it could be possible out of many possibilities. The only way to find out is to have further studies.

Daniel T Is that so? then enlighten me please. How exactly do vaccines work? Only scientist know themselves and I doubt you are. How does DNA work? How does lead poison work? Bovine Serum Albumin is toxic look that shit up yourself, because BSA is present in most vaccines. And what do you know most people were vaccinated. But like I said please enlighten me. Do note that this could be a possibility not a fact, unless you scientifically prove me wrong then I'll be sorry for thinking of any possibilities. We live in a world where anything is possible.

2DRonaldo flushes them out, yes but they do not know how much of these toxins are retained in the glands etc because they do not look. Sure they can check to see if there are any toxins in urine feces and blood, but just because they are no longer in the urine or blood does not mean that they have not accumulated in the pineal gland etc. This is how bad the science is and its what people use to suggest that it is safe to inject carcinogens into infants. This negligence and ignorance and lacks any rigor of conduct. We cannot pretend that the human body is a simple garbage disposal unit, what goes in comes out. You put something into the body, it will do its very best to flush it out. But to not check for residues in tissue bone or glands is clearly negligence/malpractice.

I think you answered your own question. Though over-diagnosing is part of the problem. And perhaps the medical community hasn't done the best job explaining to the public that autism covers a wide spectrum of disorders. The "increase" in autism is a combination of better diagnosis, over-diagnosis and the reclassification of certain disorders as part of the Autism spectrum (see Asperger's).

If you were an 18 month child, with 9 shots of vaccines given to you with extreme amounts of mercury, then your brain would go into an epileptic seizure, possibly making you autistic. I can vouch and say that my cousin, who's only 2, is now borderline autistic due to the vaccines she took.

When it comes to Autism, and similar "disabilities" *spits in disgust at such a word* such as Aspergers Syndrome, *you're either born with it or you're born without it*. I had to spend most of my childhood from 1994 (Age 6, Year 1 Primary) through to 2003 (Age 15, Year 10 Secondary) bouncing from paediatrician to paediatrician around Sydney (I was living down near Canberra at the time), spending a fair chunk of my schooling years at Royal Far West up at Manly, as my mother kept wanting the docs to "diagnose" me with ADD or ADHD so she could drug the fuck out of me, pretty much every single doctor who saw me said I had no signs of ADD or ADHD but that I *have* Aspergers Syndrome. Since then, it's been basically confirmed every male on my dad's side of the family for at least his generation and mine (and we suspect my grandfather had it as well, but he passed in 2002) have AS in some form or another, and any biological child of mine will either have it active or probably be a carrier for it.

Hunter Willis I'm certainly not disagreeing about the Correlation =/=causation point, but what I find most horrifying about the MMR case is that there wasn't even a correlation - it was almost completely fabricated. The dark irony behind the whole thing was that as far as I'm aware, at no point has Wakefield suggested that children not receive vaccinations or be vaccinated against MMR. His suggestion was merely to return to the individual separate vaccinations (for which some investigative journalism has suggested he had a financial interest in).

As I was saying, I am a self taught web developer and work on real projects and do my own, but so many times I'll get disregarded or belittled because I'm young, not because of talent. And this is all because people crave publicity for cash. If we all just were gears in the system, providing our pieces, it will work. Healthcare Triage You guys are awesome, and I'm glad you finally covered this topic! Where I live, there is a small movement of people who are anti-vaccination, and as a result we have one of the highest cases of whooping cough fatalities in infants in the country. Would you, in the future, cover the importance of both adults and children taking the whooping cough vaccine?
@magellan35
@magellan35 10 жыл бұрын
Healthcare Triage is pap. And gosh, wouldn't it be great to blame anti-vaxxers for the whooping cough outbreak and actually be right? But the fact is that most of the pertussis deaths are in heavily vaccinated areas among heavily vaccinated babies and families, and the vaccine is failing to protect them. www.smartvax.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=56&Itemid=43 On the other hand, per the CDC, the risk of a child developing asthma from the DTaP vaccine is greater than 1 in 13. Hey, at least it's good for something! www.smartvax.com/images/PDF/cdc%20-%20childhood%20vaccinations%20and%20risk%20of%20asthma.pdf Depending on your source, between 9 and several hundred babies have died of pertussis in the U.S. in the past year (actually, no one is saying the number is that high). Let's say the number is actually something outrageous like 1000. The number of asthma deaths per year is growing by the year and was 3,404 in 2010 (again per the CDC. www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/asthma.htm). If I'm a parent who can do math, I'll do some further research before I consider that a good risk/reward ratio for vaccination of my baby with DTaP, especially if I consider the growing evidence (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20193633) of scores of auto-immune disorders associated with vaccines.

Interesting - when there was a whooping cough epidemic where I live the vaccinated children caught it. None of the vaccine free children contracted the cough. Very small seaside town, we did not keep them separate or hang out in cliques. This does not necessarily mean anything I simply found it intriguing at the time. Also the vaccination schedule in the country I live is 6weeks, 3 months, 5 months, 18months and onwards. The high rates of SIDS in this country occur at 6weeks, 3 months, 6 months. I don't have a barrow to push with this and I am not an epidemiologist or a biochemist I'm just interested in the conversation. My kids are grown now. What I don't appreciate is the name calling,and insults. This is a really important conversation to be having. Informed decision making means researching as many perspectives of an issues as one can. Simply going along with vaccination because your physician recommended it is not informed consent. Great conversation - I believe in passionate objectivity. You need to be able to argue a point from both sides in order to fully refute the side you disagree with.

The vaccine debt doesn't work with me. My daughter has autism and she has NEVER had a vaccine in her life. She had signs of autism and was diagnosed BEFORE she ever had a single vaccine. I opted out of vaccines because of her seizure history (Before we knew she was autistic). My other children are completely vaccinated and never had an issue. You need to vaccinate your kids unless there is a legit medical concern. Also, if you are a part of any genetic research project such as myself, you will see there is a specific mutated gene that has been studied for the past couple of years. I can't remember the name if the gene (that's not why I was a part of a study) but if you research it yourself, you'll find it.

I had my doubts about immunization anyway - so this confirms what I've suspected. But I'm curious - do we have any ideas on what has caused this dramatic increase in autism? That's a pretty big increase.
@ChrisMasto
@ChrisMasto 10 жыл бұрын
One factor contributing to the increase is changes in diagnosis and classification. There are many cases of autism that would have been unreported in the past, especially among populations that had poor access to health services. Some children we now consider to have autism would previously have been labeled quite differently. And across the "autism spectrum", the definition continues to change, for example, Asperger syndrome may or may not be included. That's almost certainly not the only factor, and the "cause" of autism is still unclear. So the point raised by Healthcare Triage is important: we need to direct resources toward real science and not continue to be distracted by a thoroughly discredited fraud.

In the last decade we have become more aware of autism, and so more children have been diagnosed. It had happened before with MPD when the movie Sybil came out. I don't think it's the only reason, but it is one of the largest.

like they said but I got to add that we see this also with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and ADHD because people know about For instance I got diagnose at 6, in 1988 for Dyspraxia and my Mum really had to fight to get anyone to even look at the kid that kept falling over and had bad writing, This is why in Britain at least you will get the diagnosis in adults

There are so many possible factors. It could be simply better diagnosis. It could be the push away from breast feeding that occured for a time. Could be exposure to chemicals or compounds in our food system, which has radically changed for the worse over the last 50 years. Could also be this whole "antibacterial" trend that insists are sterilizing everything and leading to a disruption in normal immune system development. Any or all of the above, or possibly something else completely. We just do not know.

My little brother is Autistic, and he is the only one in my whole family to be on the spectrom. He had been Vaccinated before this whole lie became popular belief. Not once during his diagnosis had there even be a reference to vaccines and Autism. Coming from someone who has seen it first hand the only links I can see is that Occupational Therapy, Gluten free Casein free diet, and Family support helped my brother be a high functioning autistic boy who is in regular 6th grade at my old elementary school who ran for class president, if that doesn't show how autism can be just a part of someone with out being who they are I don't know what is.

My uncle refused to have his children vaccinated. Much of the household got whooping cough. Afterward one of the younger children got RSV. Her immune system was so weak from the whooping cough that what should have been a cold or maybe pneumonia turned into 5 weeks in children's and part of that time in a medically induced coma. Vaccinations are administered to keep children healthy. The childhood diseases we vaccinate for can kill.

As a neuropsychologist and former professor of research methods and statistics, I have to say that the concept of correlation in no way equals causation is easily the largest hurdle to making good decisions about pretty much anything. This video is just one powerful example of this problem. The power of human emotion is so great (and it always has been) that we are willing to accept simple associations as reasons for almost any kind of illness or behavior instead of bravely stepping up and exploring the scientific method to shed light on whatever the issue is. Good research can sometimes tell us what the truth is, and more importantly, it can tell us when we don't know the truth. I think teaching people (and convincing people) to become critical consumers of "science", of political claims, of business marketing etc., is just as important as vaccinations. Thanks so much for sharing these videos. Chris

Yep but you dare go against the narrative, you become ostracised. There is no free talk about vaccines, Corona proves it.. Try and be critical, you'll get regurgitated nonsense from above, most drs are owned by the CDC or in the uk HCPC, basically gagged. There is no one truth, just perception. The fact you CANNOT debate against the narrative, is THE cause for concern.

I don't think it's so much as surge as it is either overdiagnosing or that we're getting better at recognizing it. In the former case, signs are just misinterpreted as something else. I went through five diagnoses of various mental disorders before we landed on autism, and now I'm finding that I may not be autistic at all. Go figure

“Meat least” LOL. Not getting vaccinated doesn’t mean you’ll die. The Amish would be extinct by now. The U.S. childhood mortality rate is one of the highest among developed countries despite requiring the most vaccinations. My generation was healthier, and we received a tiny fraction of what kids receive now. We actually got chicken pox and miraculously all survived. As someone who has worked with autistic children, let me remind you that there are teenagers walking around in diapers who are completely non-verbal. So, don’t treat autism like it’s no big deal just because you worship the pharmaceutical industry and want them to keep ramping up the number of mandated shots. .

I find the fact that the guy who wrote that paper has lost his license hilarious. Warranted and hilarious. Also, I really liked the timeline infographic. The infographics for this channel are pretty great. And all this talk about autism is making me want a SciShow episode on what we know scientifically about it. (I say SciShow and not Healthcare Triage because I feel like SciShow tends to make videos on various aspects of science where as this channel is more viewing an accumulation of various case studies and having the validity of each one confirmed or refuted. I don't think I've ever seen an episode of SciShow done like that, so putting out information like this is important since it NEEDS to be taught. And wow this comment and these parentheses have gone on longer than anticipated.)
