Friedrich der Große royal guards and phase 2 clones were active at the same time. See episode 3. Venator class star destroyers were used until the common class of the empire replaced them all. This is only 8 months after the fall of the republic. Not enough time to create a whole fleet of star destroyers or completely replace clone troopers. Pay attention to the details and you will understand.

I like how Palpatine acknowledges that, although he is his Master, he and Vader are very much rivals. He knows that Anakin/Vader has more than enough ability to surpass him. He knows that if Vader were to snap out of his depression, there would be nothing stopping him from destroying Palpatine. So he deflects Vader's ire by enforcing his hate of Jedi. He keeps him occupied so he has no time to heal and realize his true enemy. I love it.

Palpatine himself confirmed that Vader's physical injuries aren't what hinder his powers, but his psychological problems, and if he was to finally accept what he had done and own up to his mistakes, he'd regain his vast power as the Chosen One. This was proven to be true when Vader regained much of his confidence and became one of the most powerful Sith Lords in history, and he would have been twice the power of Palpatine had he snapped out of his depression. Even at his current state, someone said it was foolish of Palpatine not to fear Vader.

It's a rare thing that Vader can be shown as both a complete badass, and a physically and emotionally broken man within the span of a few minutes. Masterfully done. Hell, even that little scene between Padme and Vader had more emotional weight and depth than their entire love story in the prequels. I actually BELIEVED these two people were in love for the first damned time. Well done, all of you. Everyone at Disney needs to watch this short film and learn how Star Wars should be done. I'd seriously put this up there with Irvin Kirschner's work. You put up a Kickstarter or Indiegogo or other crowd funding page, I'll be there to donate what I can. This series MUST continue.

I agree with every word in your comment, but unfortunately, Lucasfilm and Disney have denied Star Wars Theory access to use any form of crowd funding directly regarding the fan film or else it will legally result in Copyright Infringement. Disney is so greedy, they do not share the same passion for the remarkably well crafted characters and story lines the people behind the original trilogy wrote than us, the true fans of the franchise.

This was the FIRST TIME I ever believed that Skywalker was the person caged in the Vader uniform. I always felt the way he was transformed in the prequels was too abrupt. But this director has added so much DEPTH and REALISM to the transformation of the character. AMAZING - EXCELLENT WORK!

For me I think it was an unfortunate case of trying to fit too much into the climax of the movie. They ended just as the transformation into Vader /really/ started to happen, so little struggle between who Vader used to be, and currently was, existed.

The manner the prequels depict the path of Anakin to Dark Side is really awful and suffers a serious lack of intensity. The portrait of vader you get there is childish and stupid. This short scene try to properly fill that void. Not bad.

The new stuff that comes out should respect the writers before it I stead of just re writing everything that's why it matters. In addition leslye headland has prove n to be pushing a personal and political agenda into star wars which is having a clear impact on the show, things are being forced in because she wants them in instead of them being there for the story, that is the current issue with the acolyte. In addition its now a common fact that the acolyte is not a good show the majority of its ratings are negative and its overall feedback is the same even if you were to disregard the idea of respecting the previous writers and the vision that was in place before it's still considered a bad show by the majority.

If Disney was to make a Star Wars story on the period of time just a few years after revenge of the sith, and base it on Darth Vader’s struggle with depression and anger, I genuinely believe this is the perfect cinematic piece. Anyone can play Vader, Ian McDermott can be used for palpatine, Natalie Portman can still be used for flashbacks of Padme, Ewan mcgregor can be used for force visions of obi wan. This is my dream film, and this masterpiece brings me so much joy, and a little hope that this could happen one day.

But again, I don't really know how much I accept that with just how much flesh Vader lost on Mustafar.
