I wish I had an answer as well DE130! If I remember correctly, there is a pilot in the novel "Death Star" who considered this very question, and they preferred the less "personal" death to Vader behind the controls of a starfighter. Hi there! Interesting video! I do feel that there are some issues with the information though. First, the Scimitar wasn't a "starfighter" but rather a military grade courier; similar in size to the Millennium Falcon. It is 26. 5m long, compared to 5.47m for the eta actis-2. The TIE advanced is a similarly small "snub fighter", though larger than the eta actis-2. (11m) This new Vader ship is fascinating. Do we know its size or anything more about it? Clearly it has a hyperdrive: something the stock eta actis-2 lacks. I could imagine Vader having both a small, hyperdrive capable starfighter, AND a military courier, depending on mission type & requirements.

I like seeing Vader fly more than just the TIE-ad X1. Between Padme's old yacht in the Charles Soule comics, and the Eta-2 Interceptor, other things I'd like to see him fly would be a prototype Incom Corp. X-Wing from back when Incom was designing ships for the Empire. And to be completely honest, given the circumstances of Vader performing a bombing run in this comic and all, it would've been fitting to see Vader flying a sleek black Y-Wing. In 20 years, a man's tastes are bound to change. And Vader was no fool. He would've known that certain ships didn't fit certain mission profiles. And being a man with so many military assets at his disposal, Vader probably didn't get very attached to any one ship. On that note, I'd quite like to see a chronological sort of "evolution" in the ships Vader flies. For example, early in the Imperial days, we do know that he flew this star-courier and the Eta-2, and maybe in-between then and the Battle of Yavin, he flies Imperial X-Wings and eventually the TIE-ad V1, then the X1. Then, after the Battle of Yavin, he shifts in favour of the TIE-Defender, and then in his final months, he starts flying a prototype I-7 Howlrunner.
