This clearly shows one of the major sparks for Anakin as Darth Vader as for so long he was consumed by the dark side and thought it was his only way left. Once he found out about Luke, it was the first major spark, but when he saw Padmé's recording, it really excelled his inner conflict we notice in ROTJ. By this point, he was even conflicted with his state in the dark side.

No she wouldn't die because Anakin will be on her side. Padme died because Anakin was not on her side and she couldn't believe Anakin joined the darkside. She basically died from heartbroken not actually because of Anakin nearly choked her to death

​@Hilal0999 HI there! It's believed by some that Padmé died due to Palpatine draining her life force and feeding it into Anakin. Padmé would have been fine. Just a little weak is all. But since her body was already under so much strain from giving birth (not to mention twice consecutively) It was easy for Palpatine to take what little strength she had left and give it to Anakin not only as a way to make him stronger, but to make him more angry and drive him even further into the dark side.

He wanted to become so powerful, that he could stop her from dying. In his pursuit of the power to save her, he killed her. Then he killed himself, his failure was too much, the truth was too severe. Anakin was dead, and Vader buried him.

Anakin has got to be one of the most tragic characters ever written. To me the story of star wars is the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker. The extended stuff is fun and all but episodes 1 through 6 and the clone wars is all thats really needed

Fear leads to anger... anger to hate... hate to suf-fer-ring. 😄 But yes, Anakin always had conflict in him, but he suppressed it so well that not even Palpatine could detect his betrayal. His hope that the Darkside could bring back Padme clouded his judgment to the point that no one could tell he wanted to be good... not even himself.

Just because someone did horrible things does not mean they cannot be redeemed. Yes, the scars and the horrible things/consequences remain yet that does not takeaway the truth. We are not irredeemable. Unconditional love is a powerful tool humans should utilize always. There are many people who seek forgiveness in many since/forms. That doesn’t mean anyone ahould associate or disassociate themselves, its a matter of free will, all is love even the painful things because you learn from it even if it takes a while

It should've been obvious to Vader that it was Obi-wan who kept Luke a secret from him for all these years. Vader knew that Obi-wan took Padme off of Mustafar while she was still pregnant. He also knew that Obi-wan and Luke were onboard the millennium falcon that blasted its way out of Tatooine. He's aware that Obi-wan lied to Luke about his father being dead. Finally,Vader noticed that Luke is using the same lightsaber that Obi-wan stole from Vader after their fight on Mustafar. Plus, if the medical droid had shown the complete footage of Padme's final moments, Vader would've known about Leia long before his final duel in Return of the Jedi.

The whole issue with Vader is that he feels he's too far gone. He is basically responsible for the destruction of everything good in his life and at some level he believes he deserves his suffering. There was an alternate story at one point where Vader fight Maul and defeats him by feinting to impale Msul...by igniting his lightsaber through his own chest. As Msul dies, he asks "What could you possibly hate enough to be this strong?" Vader's answer? "Myself."
