You quickly identified the problems with this watch that would take me months of on the wrist time and would lead to disappointment. I’d rather know its failings before I bought it, as it’s a nice watch and still might buy it. Can’t be disappointed if you already know before you buy. Top tier review, Thankyou

What a great review. I have been interested in this company for some time but have yet to buy any pieces due to no real in depth review that does not seem too much like an opinion piece. Great work.

Sounds like Vaer have their homework to crack on with. Lovely dial which is why I clicked on the video. I was surprised they didn't throw on a pressed clasps but the dial and playful colours has me hoping for an updated version which from past experiences some mid tier companies actually listen to your reviews and has brought an updated version. Lets hope Vaer is one of them.

It may have male endinks, but they curve almost straight down. One has to make that distinction. I prefer female endlinks (if only for fitment) as well, but only when they jut straight out from the case. I think the point should be made that on this case and with these particular male endlinks, there would not be an overhang, even on smaller wrists. Notwithstanding fitment, I find male endlinks to generally look more aesthetically pleasing - but that's subjective.

The suggestion to remove "American Assembly", and put 'USA Made" in place of "TEN ATM" is a good suggestion for decluttering the dial. Unfortunately, it would not be legal to do so. In US law, "USA Made" or "Made in USA" can only be claimed when almost all of the components were made in the USA. For this watch, I expect most of the components are Chinese made. Vaer would run foul of the law if they claimed "USA Made", so have to state "American Assembly", meaning the foreign-sourced parts were put together in the USA.

Excellent points Anthony. In reality many "Swiss Made" watches are made from Chinese parts, with only the movement really being Swiss made. In order to be stamped Swiss made, a watch must meet the requirement of a minimum of 60% Swiss value; thus can be 40% Chinese value; such as a Swiss movement cased in a Chinese watch. "USA Made" legislation is far stricter than "Swiss Made" legislation; which is a good thing. Regards, #WR4K

The only real positive about that piece is the dial, which is certainly very nice looking. Everything else seems to have been an afterthought.

Nice call out on the $375 vk movement watch. There seems to be quite a few of these overpriced underspec’d chronos lately.

I would prefer to see a Swiss made Ronda 5040.D quartz chronograph movement used at this price point. Regards, #WR4K
