the funny thing is. if you use crimson pain with anything else the game becomes really easy to chain. at least for me. risk doesnt even matter at that point, a miss becomes 50 damage or over and you have no fear of dying lol.

I remember printing a big guide from gamefaqs back in the day, we didn't have KZbin. I even added a nice ringed hardcover 😂. It explained how to successfully combine all blades and armor to get better equipment and better materials. I completely submerged myself in this game, got really good too. I didn't care if my hit didn't land, I could increase the damage with the chains, from 0 until the enemy was defeated. Man, greet times!

Something crucial you didn't seem to glean is that Edged/Blunt/Piercing is weighed vastly more heavily than the Affinity and Elemental categories. I believe Elemental is next most significant, but we're talking overall like 85/10/5 or for how much Type, Elemental, and Affinity matter, respectively. You can play the game very effectively with three weapons, and use gems and buffs for all Elemental or Affinity related adaptations for individual battles. Or I guess you can always break art spam too lol... the reason that may have worked is that each break art has its own Edged/Blunt/Piercing value separate from the weapon used... so an edged sword doing shit against a golem with normal hits will do damage with a break art that does Blunt damage for example. Also, there are absolute systemic rules to the crafting that can be taken advantage of to make better weapons/armor earlier in the game. Generally though the game gives you everything you could need to beat it along with using buffs/debuffs properly (if the above paragraph is understood also lol... this game) , and the crafting is mostly a fun diversion for those who really want to have all kinds of different neat weapons and go through New Game + several times and become very powerful for the fun of it. There are also parts of the map that only open on NG+, like final challenge areas for your character. Same thing goes for offensive magic, yes it is pretty pointless outside a few niche situations on a first play... but every time you go through NG+ and get another tome of that spell, it actually gains a level, up to 4 I think, giving significantly more flat damage and AoE, so when combined with an int stat from 4 trips through the game and a nicely crafted staff, you can make everything go boom real good with magic eventually. But yeah you'd have no idea of that from how it feels to use on the first play. Awesome video overall, it's so good to see coverage of this classic far too few people played.

thats weird. the type didnt really do much protecting to me. when i got the marlenes ring (0 types), the damage done to me is like night and day difference..maybe youre talking about just attacks??
@CoffeeBoost2 жыл бұрын
For real, blunt/piercing/edged almost don't matter at all for me because my edged weapons are always way stronger than blunt and piercing. At the start they provide you with all kind of base weapons but then they only provide good edged weapons for mid game. When you get to end game you finally get some nice piercing and blunt weapon but you usually have end game edged weapon which deals with anything any way. I carry sword/staff/ greatsword and nowhere do I deal 0 damage to ennemies. I work on affinity mostly and build air set up. With the right air setup you ll even destroy air ennemies(like in the abandonned mines, take a sylphid ring, a shamshir, djinn amber, sylphid topaz, luft fusion and degenerate and you ll just destroy the air elemental with crimson pain without any need to switch weapon or set up)

Hey folks! Hopefully you can look past how I say "Vagrant" and get some use out of this. The amount of times I've heard this said in person can probably be counted on 1 hand and each time would have been pronounced differently, so I'm doing my best with some notable confusion. I created this video to supplement Vagrant Stories lack of tutorials. If you're like me starting this game was a confusing and arduous task. I myself came to the web looking for a video like this and couldn't find it, so I hope it helps you all in your journey. 1 thing I'd like to add however: Combat is not the only thing to get stuck on. I understand this. It's very easy to get lost as well. If you find yourself lost in the game look through your inventory for unused sigils and back-track to make use of them. Also use your map to locate any doors you've yet to unlock with the silver/gold keys etc or simply any door you've not gone through. Fill in as much of the map as possible to find new bosses and keep your stats up! That is all! My review for the game can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4bcgZ2EZqqGobs

One of the best games ive ever played. Basically you need 3 weapon for 100% affinity towards each monster type, and after you have 100 affnity towards each type, you melded it in the blacksmith to get "ultimate" weapon with 100 affinity for each monster type, no need to switch weapon again. But it is very time consuming to grind it 😂

It’s SO annoying when I want to learn something in a game and have to wait 5 minutes for them to stop blabbering about nothing and then come away more confused before sometimes. You summarized this guide perfectly. No useless banter, just a simple and easy to follow guide. You cracked a few jokes here and there but you didn’t overdo it. You deserve more subs man. I haven’t taken a look at your channel but if you haven’t already you should consider doing more helpful videos for older games since back then you were expected to read the guide that came with the game..but no access to that means zero tutorial. Sorry this message ended up being so long..I’m just so happy I found a helpful video that I can reference without having to sit and listen to some kid with a super annoying voice terribly “explaining” what to do. So frustrating. You should really try to get more subs because honestly with how great this video was I have no doubt in my mind you could do KZbin full time super easily. If you ever want my help just let me know. I’m not capable of doing much but if you think of something I’d be more than happy to oblige! Thanks again!

There are 6 types put on a wheel, when You hit 1st type it can raise but it can also lower 2nd and 3rd. if You hit 4th type it can go up but 5th and 6th may lower. I feel like this guy has never heard the word “vagrant” pronounced out loud before… 😒

I feel like I'm from a part of the world that has an accent a lot of people pick up on despite my best efforts and people just can't be chill about it... 😒

@@TarksGauntlet you’re absolutely okay. It was uncouth of me to harp on you about that, and I hope you can forgive me for being unnecessarily rude. It’s easy to forget that we are all human and all have different experiences, talents, and in this case accents. The content of the video was great, and I focused on something irrelevant. Keep up the good work, man.
