TANDOORI CHICKEN
Ingredients:-
Whole Chicken - 1 Full Bird
Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
Yogurt - 1 Cup
Ginger Garlic Paste- 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - 1 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Kasoori Methi - 1 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
Oil - As Required
Salt - To Taste
Method:-
First cut the chicken as shown in the video. Massage the chicken with chilli powder and salt & lime juice nicely. In a bowl add yogurt,add ginger garlic paste,turmeric,coriander powder,garam masala,cumin powder,kashmiri chilli powder,chat masala and mix it nicely. Then add some lemon juice and oil. Apply this masala to chicken and add little amount of oil. Put the whole chicken in oven at the highest temperature for 45-50 minutes.
Tasty and Juicy Tandoori Chicken is ready to serve.

I just did this chicken recipe and I'm absolutely blown away with it...I've tried 1000 tandoori chicken recipes...(I added more fresh ginger and salt)...OMG this recipe rocks the universe....a gorgeous balance of flavors and color. thank you brother. Made this today following the receipe....thankyou so much for the main first step tip..brining the chicken...it really made the chicken juicy and tender. I always stuggled with excellent marination yet a little tough fried chicken. Now i will follow tge brining process everytime i make chicken. Always wondered how tge restsurent chicken is always tender..u are the only chef who showed tge importance of brining. Thankyou

Tandoori chicken was one of my first culinary expeditions as a teenager, back in the 1980's. No internet at that time so it was Uxbridge Library and books for me. It's still a firm favourite now, never met anyone who doesn't absolutely adore tandoori chicken. I can crank my domestic oven up to nearly 300°C, which does a reasonable impersonation of a tandoor.

This is one of the best recipe. Just follow all the step he said. I cooked in oven. Marinated in Salt water - then dahi masala mixture. Exactly the timing that he said. And the chicken turned out to be one of the best tandoori chicken exactly the ones that you will pay for in a 5 -7 star hotel. It was tender, well cooked, masala sipped all the way in the chicken and it was delicious. Thank you chef for sharing the recipe in such a detailed way

@@k7340 it means, if he added red food coloring, the viewers would complain about artificial ingredients. Instead, the chef is adding red colored chilli powder, which is natural.

I made it using gas tandoor with smaller pieces but believe me it came out perfect as restaurant style. That too using homemade spices. Thank you very much chef for such wonderful recipe which everyone enjoyed in this lockdowm!

Made this at home. Turned out brilliant. Two changes: Soaked whole chicken in brine for an hour and post that marinaded the chicken in the vah re vah recipe overnight. So juicy!

Wish he had shown the actual grilling process. That's the hard part. Not allowing the chicken to dry out and how often he was basting it would have been nice.

Hard to overstate how ridiculously good this recipe is. Didn't have any kashmiri chilli powder, so used a nice tandoori masala instead. Also roasted some baby new potatoes at the same time, placed in the roasting tray under the chicken so juices drip on them, parboiled first for 10 mins and rubbed in a bit of tandoori masala also.

You could of shown the temperature setting, and the time you baste, and what rack level you put the chicken.

200 - 220 degrees C. Basting times and oven rack level are extremely oven dependent. It's impossible to be that detailed.
