@mikehunt98842 жыл бұрын
theres a reason for this. Back in the day if you typed his name with bullshido you could find a lot of posts exposing him, so he went and made a bunch of webpages like "the truth about grandmaster hisham or the truth about grandmaster Jiang Yu Shang" etc etc.. and put up his own videos on there, as they would come up in the search before the other posts exposing him. But these days most of the bullshido posts are gone and all there is left are his own updated webpages and his videos.

This guy is a master not because he trained monkey fist but because he is an accomplished mixed martial artist with a background in long range, middle range, close range and ground martial arts, and has real fighting and sparring experience, which is the only way to teach distance. So, if you want to emulate his approach, you need to cross train, which has also been my philosophy since over 25 years. The difference is: I do it as a hobby and he has dedicated his life to martial arts. He is an impressive man.
@Kijinn4 жыл бұрын
I met Hisham once in 1997, in Berlin. Very outgoing, nice and grounded guy. I still remember him, because when we started talking about martial arts, he mentioned a herbal medicine that his master always had available, to treat any parts of the body for potential injury from training. He showed the knuckles on his hand to indicate a typical area where the medicine was applied. The biggest, toughest looking knuckles I had ever seen on a young man, who didn't look significantly heavier than I. (He was a bit leaner back then). From only that one meeting I got the impression that's someone who's very serious about martial arts.

@@mikehunt9884 his recognition as grandmaster isnt a matter of ego inflation, its a matter of function, because he is known as the grandmaster, people know that he has reliable wisdom and knowledge to which they can go to in order to learn, if it was a matter of ego inflation, then anyone could call themselves a grandmaster to make themselves look better, but if anyone did that they would be challenged by the broader community. You see things more clearly when the hero worship wears off. Thats when the real respect begins. When the student is ready the teacher appears. When a student sees his teacher as a man he can begin to understand the trials and sacrifices he has made to obtain his skills. "Master" is an honorific usually reserved for the dead. A good teacher never refers to himself as a master and also deters others from referring to him as such. A good teacher thinks of himself as a perennial student. Always green and growing. In my school we only use four belt rankings. White belt can take three years. A green belt five to seven years. A brown belt seven to ten years. A black belt at least ten years. Mastery takes a lifetime, but those who seek it never find it. Seek instead the Tao. If you are healthy and happy at sixty you're half way there. Good luck

Hi @vahva fitness. First of all thank you for the great quality content, I am sure it takes a lot of work. I have an important remark though. Master Jiang Yun Shan has a responsibility as a master, and so do you as a teacher. Showing lethal techniques on KZbin is not responsible nor is allowed by the principles of the same martial arts you are promoting. These techniques can of course be taught but to a selective group with a higher level, and only for a very precise purpose. Having the responsibility of a man’s life in your hands is something really serious. Yes, this type of information can be found on the Internet if one wants to, but it being shown by a master to so many without restriction is inconsiderate and irresponsible. I am sure you did not mean harm, but please take this into consideration. Best regards, Taïssa

This is a really good martial artist. He is a real Kung Fu master. It’s unfortunate that many Kung Fu is dying and a lot of the arts has lost its roots. Why is that? Majority of the Chinese Millennial don’t want to practice Kung Fu anymore because all they care about is money and family. This master however, is dedicated and put himself out there and has proven to be a real Kung Fu Master. Not many, not many. Again not many are real Kung Fu master. There is only a few handful and China is a communist country and too many fake masters over there that is very extremely sad. To all the haters, before you start to say trash talking, put yourself in his shoes and experience before you even speak. His skills are just top notch. You have to understand back in the ancient times these Kung Fu masters constantly fought in wars and actual real life combat just like Samurais did. It was the only way of survival so it works only if the most dedicated person such as this guy has proven that it works.

MMA and the like is sport, not real fighting.. MMA employs real fighting techniques and is super tough but it can't compare with real fighting. Real martial Kung Fu was designed to kill or disable..The throat and eyes are considered natural targets. If you are not very good at real King Fu a competent cage fighter will beat you.. If you are as competent as Shan... Forget it...

It is bewildering how everyone talks wrongly about Kung Fu.. ,what you experienced"and Bragging about" is no way close to what really exist and they don't want you too know.. I opolgise and say that you've been shown the wrong Knowledge .

Geeze, I need these techniques in NY...very intense. Frankly, all women should know these techniques for self defense.

I actually find it irresposible that Hisham is teaching his students how to "break a spine". This has zero to do with self defense in my opinion.

I'm sure this guy can beat all of the fake "Kungfu" masters out there with that bulls*it no-touch style. He applies his traditional Kung Fu to real life combat and MMA. Good job.

Did you delete the comment about the word expose after you replied to it? Because I'm trying to read your reply after getting the notification that you did and I can't find the parent comment. I'm just genuinely curious as to what you said in the response
@Vahvafitness4 жыл бұрын
I did not, maybe the author did. My reply was something along the lines of: For years we and the master have received lots of messages attacking and doubting the master trying to "expose" him. Well, here is the truth.

Expose him further, maybe a full playlist or a recurring guest presence; the world need to know what kind of stuff he's up to...
