A shame that we don't have this kind of quality entertainers these days.

Two of the most relaxed performers ever. Saw Max Bygraves in Joburg back in the 70s I think. Master of the running gag. Had the audience in fits with a chat with a old biddy in the front row. Met Val Doonican a few years later cos he remembered I had sung the demo version of Ring Of Bright Water when I was living and working in London in the 60s. Just the same off as onstage. Broke the mold after these guys retired from variety showbiz.🎈

They both contributed hugely to my early entertainment - and I still find them entertaining! Thanks to you both.

Funny to think that Max was just 63 in 1985 and Val was just 58! I am now 69 so a little older than both of them. Time, time, time. The lyrics are still as true today as they were back in 1985.
