It's easy to see when Rob keeps a good impression of his peers after the movie is done, because it's written all over his body language, and Val is one of those people that makes Rob comfortable with, if that even makes sense. Another comedy/drama would be cool!

You know, Robert is very hard to really know and live with, I guess. He looks like he is easy going, and he is, but he will always surprise you with something you do or don´t like. He´s changig like a weather, and when he´s angry, he could be bitter and a real pain in the ass. But he´s also lovable, wise and entertaining and that´s what balances his character.

@rrtodd95 It was all the poor, wretched kids who got beat up by their dads, guys who didn't get on the football team, couldn't finagle a scholarship. They didn't have the emotional equipment to handle that experience. But this is what an actor trains to do. I can more effectively represent that kid in Vietnam than a guy who was there. Then he denied he said it, but Esquire recorded the interview and he just stopped talking about it.

Some people are not good at verbally articulating what they mean. I call it verbal diarrhea my mom suffers from it. People either hate her or love her. I think my mom is the most understood person. I will have to watch that interview. Most guys who went to Vietnam were poor. The brilliant people running our lives at the time did give people who broke the law the option of going to jail or serve in the military and be sent to Vietnam.

He's some punk. Most guys were borderline criminal or poor, and that's why they got sent to Vietnam.
