@Kyle Snyder Alright, i don't think you thought this through. 1. people are saying that they "proved his point" because by shutting his mic off, they showed that they feared what he would say and didn't want people to hear it, which that part i assume your brain is big enough to get. 2. Yes, while you aren't allowed to say whatever you want in high-school, those were some pretty well thought out words, and it implied that the school had an authoritarian view and didn't want anyone criticizing they're school, which also implied that they couldn't take criticism and wanted to mold the students into what they wanted them to be, not what the students themselves wanted to be. 3. don't call people "morons" its rude, and i'm assuming your a grown ass man, who is most likely old enough to know this.

@Kyle Snyder It's likely they would not have allowed his final speech, a lie was necessary for his own truth to be spoken. Wait, schools are actually like this? I went to a private school where it was very much the opposite. Obviously, there were ground rules, but as long as you were following them and getting your work done, you could do basically whatever. Like you could go to the gym and play dodgeball with whatever class was in there, or you could go play on the playground, even high schoolers. You could do whatever as long as it wasn't breaking the school rules and you didn't go off school grounds. The teachers taught us well, but they treated us like friends instead of students, so no one really ever rebelled or did something crazy. I don't know if that type of teaching works for everyone, but I mean, my class average was always around 95%, so I think it worked out well for us.

Schools are like government and social media corporations and media/news. If you don't stay in the box of their rules and guidelines, you're better off dead. I want to see CNN interview someone on the streets during an event, whether good or bad, and start calling out CNN on their bullshit and manipulation and see how fast they cut off the person being interviewed. I would gladly be one of those people. I would also come prepared with my own recording device to be sure I have an unedited version of the interview to prove how much manipulation they put into their stories and interviews. Same with social media and how often they ban people for not staying within the boundaries of their agendas. School systems suck. Government systems suck. Social media systems suck. He's absolutely right, and it's sad that they went out of their way to basically prove it. I used to be a double major in Biology and Education, and had an intern position with the local board of education. But the more involved you get, the more corruption you witness, and the more powerless you realize you actually are. Politics govern education, and politics are fickle, subjective, and highly variable across the nation. So while some students are receiving quality education, others are stuck at dated institutions that value obedience above all else.

The fact that so many people are unable to see that free speech does not mean you get to speak whatever is on your mind at any place at any time and at any event is rather sad. This is a graduation ceremony. He does not only dump on the school that gave him the knowledge to be able to dump on things in the first place, but also on everyones feelings, who cares even a tiny bit about this ceremony. This kid can go to social media and rant, can go to the mainstream media and and rant, or even take legal measures if he thinks his rights are being violated. There is absolutely no legitimate reason to voice his opinions here. he decided to be a disrespectful and then was surprised that his indecent behavior may not be tolareted. There is a time and place for everything. The same way you dont start talking crap during a lesson, there is a minimum politeness that you should be able to show at an actual ceremony.

@@markscaevola429 I disagree. He spoke that day as a valedictorian of the graduating year, meaning he is by all means the best student of that year. A position earned by hard work and merit. With the position and the platform that he earned, he chose to speak about what he though appropriate to shed light on. He did not dump on the school nor did he use abusive or rude language, he spoke about genuine concerns(as is blatantly shown by the muting of the mic) of his for future students in a respectful way and gave constructive criticism with the right to speak he had earned for himself. To silence someone when they give constructive criticism in a respectful manner from a platform that they earned a right to speak from, isn't keeping decorum, It's being insecure and dumb which is why the education system is the broken mess it is right now.
@markscaevola4293 жыл бұрын
@@ks.nark. I do not think that the graduation ceremony would be a place to raise your "concerns" and talk about alleged abusive behavior of your teachers. You have plenty of platforms to do so. The core ideology behind schools is to teach people knowledge. But it's not what it is anymore, is it? Schools now are basically a significant part of where you'll end up in society. It's not just about knowledge, but socials, environment, teachers/adults etc. For a lot of people school would make them depressed. And when they have a really bad system it affects your life negatively.

If he ruined it for anyone it was for the people who obstructed his education. He specifically said a *few* faculty members. If you went to a school like this you’d know that the chill teachers know what was going on and they traded stories about the faculty’s bullshit throughout the year.

Mario To be really honest they booed when faculty came to stage. When people look back on graduation day they dont just think about the day. They think about the entire high school experience, clearly he is not alone in how he feels. Not with the crowd or with the comments section. It’s not about “sticking it to them” it’s about making your voice heard since this undoubtably came up before, and you saw how they handle criticism. You are just assuming this event is the only thing that occurred and nobody tried anything else. You ever try and complain to your teachers that the principal is a xanax addicted lunatic? “yeah the principals a dick but she’s my boss what can I do?” Talk to your super intendant “yeah we had problems with her but we dont have jurisdiction to do that” Talk to your principal directly “Wow I can’t believe someone like this works here! We will get to the bottom of this immediately” True story “If you didn’t like school you should have just dropped out” The school system failed you if you believe one should just leave when people are mistreated or quit when things are hard. As though that is even an option to begin with. If you can do something to make a positive difference you do it. What is the point of school if you dont believe that?

Mario Incorrect. You can clearly hear them saying “let him speak” it’s obvious that the other students feel the same and it’s admirable that he brings these issues to everyone’s attention with that platform that he has as Valedictorian. There is also in my opinion no better time to bring these issues to light than graduation day where all the students and faculty are present. Cutting him off only proved what he was trying to say in the first place as well.
