Yes but you have to listen to the first two movements for the third movement to have a context. Many people jump straight to the third movement. That's a mistake. Don't do that.

the beautiful sensitivity of touch that Valentina has in this performance makes the opening movement seem to float so gracefully along, dreamily. Then, the 2nds movement so cheerfully wakes you back up, and says get ready for a quick (but adventurous) trip back home, and Valentina then pounces into that great, rush-home, final movement. I've never hear another pianist do *quite* the dramatic performance of this one. There are more than a few really great pianists out there, but for this particular piece, Lisitsa's performance is the most dramatic.

Dearest Valentina, I hope you are well and that you get this message. I saw you play live today in Brussels at Flagey for the Piano Days. It was incredible. You truly mastered Beethoven. You played for 1 hour and half. You ended with the complete moonlight sonata and an extra piece of Chopin(nocturne in c sharp minor). Both of those pieces are extremely special to me. We spoke briefly after your concert and I told you how amazing it was. You were very kind and gracious. I just want to say your interpretations are amazing. After the concert I stayed a while to enjoy the piano bar with a Jazz musician. I went outside and saw a beautiful church. Maybe this seems like a cliché but thanks to you I was able to enter and was able to confess to God and to the priest. I haven't done this since I was 12 years old. Beethoven was a RARE prodigy.... a very rare true talent.... like Mozart..... it's so sad we don't have God Given talent like these men anymore..... Beethoven and his predecessors ( Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, etc., ) all are true LEGENDS.... WE SERIOUSLY WOULD NOT have our current music if it were not for these individuals!! Especially in the metal gentre, I might add!! :)

I will check Gilels out 👍 I asked him about other pianists because I sensed he was just commenting that she was 'the only one who understands Beethoven, but he doesn't know any other.
