I'm so glad to have found your videos! I love how you both go into lots of detail on the parts and nuances of the man's and the woman's parts and how they go together. Although I have always had a great sense of rhythm, I've never really learned to dance, much to the disappointment of my wife, who loves to dance. That is about to change! Better late than never. Thank you both so much!

The rotation was hard to follow, though I awkwardly figured it out. But when you started on rotation for the turn at 20:31, it was much clearer. The "no rotation" was key. Also, when you (meaning me) can't get the step right, the frustration makes it tempting to give up. But keep making that mistake until you figure it out, which I finally did. I can't wait to share it with my girlfriend. And playing at .75 speed really helps.

Question: any adaptive ways to dance for leg amputees? My fiancé is an above knee amputee on his left side. He agile and has an amazing prosthetic so he can get around better then a lot of AKA. Are there dances that don’t include to much knee twist movements or backward movements? Anything to help with some inclusion would be amazing. I want him to feel confident and not self conscious on our wedding day and date nights ❤️
@BallroomFeed3 жыл бұрын
Hi Autumn! Wow that's incredible, good for him! Well I can't speak on personal experience I can recommend some dances that should be more comfortable for him based on not "twisting" or too many backward movements for him. I would check out the foxy, v.waltz and waltz. They are all classic slow dances with no "twisting" for him. All dances include at least one backward step for him but I would take a look at each of them and see what you think will be most comfortable for him since you know him best! You can hand pick the patterns that look the most comfortable and stick to those ones! I'll link all of our dances that I mentioned below for you :) I hope this helps, and let us know if you have any more questions! Im trying to bring that spark between my wife and I back to that roaring fire. We seperated but im winning her back. I asked her to come home for a date night. Im cooking her dinner, have a movie for the end of the night but I need a playlist of songs to set that mood. She is a dancer. I have 2 left feet but have been practicing and cant say how much more confident i am about pulling her close and taking the lead after watching yalls videos. Are there any songs you can suggest for me to sweep her off her feet. I want to make her feel like i do when she smiles at me.

I was dancing with a girl all night and she kept on trying to take the lead lol I guess in real life women are the ones that take the lead especially latinas,,,, well anyways it was fun trying to get her under controll and do the american foxtrort,,,, but she kept wanting to do the cha cha or something else and just wanted to spin all day... I tried to do some dips and other stuff but..... just an example of real life vs.. something you prepare for :)

Each follower and leader is different! Have to be able to adjust on the fly with each different partner. Takes lots of practice and experience and understand it might not be possible to lead every partner you choose :)
@isaacasdreams3 ай бұрын
@@BallroomFeed I have a question... I was with a new partner this weekend and the chemistry was amazing.. I was able to lead, albeit she was pretty drunk, but the dancing felt natural and good... the only problem was we were dancing clock wise instead of counter clockwise... sooo... in the moment... do you keep going the wrong way or do you correct course and start turning the other way? What would BallroomFeed do?
@raysowders2 жыл бұрын
Question...why do you dance in 3/4 and the music is in 4/4?
@BallroomFeed2 жыл бұрын
The foxy dance is meant for songs in 4/4 not 3/4 time. The cradle pattern (or 6-count basic) has 6 steps in the basic therefore we count it in sequence (counting the number of steps) because it is the most successful way to teach this pattern. Some patterns in the foxy have 6 steps but many others have 4 steps which we understand makes more sense in the beginning. If you counted the 6-count steps in 8 beats you could, it just gets confusing for students to understand because the number will change each time they try the basic. I hope this helped you to understand :)
