Imagine when you die how many lives you can help, how many people that need that one person willing to give them a second chance, the families that get to stay together. Hopefully i don’t or anyone I love need to have a life saving operation but i’m happy that there’s people out there willing to be organ donors and realize HOW IMPORTANT this is.

In Europe it's a common thing to donate your organs, in many countries like mine (Switzerland) we are all organ donors from birth (it's a law), and if we don't want to be one we have to let it be known... but what I mean is that here everyone is an organ donor and it surprises me that in the US it doesn't seem to be a subject that people think about, nor is it common. When you are brain dead your brain doesn't work so you can't feel pain. And is hypothetical (almost impossible) pain more important than saving many lives? I still respect everyone's opinion, we are all different with different experiences and priorities.
@fanni24
@fanni24 Жыл бұрын
A person has to be declared clinically dead before their organs get donated so they don't feel any pain anymore. It's such a selfless act because the body doesn't look any different from the outside after the removal of the organs but each of them can save an individual life and it's such a miracle that humans learnt how to do that and now we help each other live.

I don’t want to be rude but this is false information here. You are not automatically a donor in Switzerland. Not yet! You have to sign a paper for your consent to donate organs. But the nation decided on a law to change that! The goal is that everyone is a donor by 2025 and if you don’t want to be one you have actively disagree.

I think it’s a noble thing to do to donate your organs. you’ll never know if a family member or someone you love will need it in the future. There are also a lot of families waiting for a miracle each day. You will make a difference. That being sad, I don’t judge Gary for saying no as it is a personal choice however, Valeria and those people who decided to donate their organs shouldn’t be made to feel guilty as well or be questioned. This decision shouldn’t be made basing on majority votes or if my friends or family do it, so what if some people decided against it. It’s a personal decision.

Organ donation does not take place until several examinations have established brain death, and therefore complete unresponsiveness to any form of stimulation (including pain). Candidates do not have hope of any kind of meaningful recovery. Of course, cultural and religious beliefs play a big role in whether or not someone finds donation appropriate, but I would suggest looking into the topic more deeply before making a decision. The gift of life can often be a way to support the legacy of the deceased. Just food for thought.

I will say something dark but if you feel things when you're dead, you also feel when you rot...😅😂

The question is why wouldn’t you be an organ donor?

The organ donor conversation was really strange to watch. She can decide for herself what she’s comfortable with obviously. I couldn’t tell if they were actually serious. Feelings after your brain is dead? How can this be a serious topic 😅

Firstly, don’t worry! Without signing legal documents, you are not organ donor! You said yes, it doesn’t mean anything. Secondly, it’s a good thing. We can save millions of people by giving something what we don’t need already!

To your husband: even if you still feel after you’re dead, it’ll be for a second. It’s not like you need your heart when it’s not pumping or your kidney or liver. Giving them to living person that still needs them to move around, maybe make their family happy, maybe they have kids, or parents.
