Since the contrast ratio of the projector is one of its touted advantages, did you specifically observe its performance with content, and if you did, did you feel it has one of the best if not the best contrast of all other projectors that you’ve tested? What other projectors had better contrast, if any?
@allthingstech3 ай бұрын
This is easily one of the best, there are others that are also great and the perceived contrast can seem better than the reported number due to the increased brightness, the AWOL 3000 and 3500 pro for instance. Formovie theatre has great contrast but reduced brightness and only 60Hz

@@allthingstech Doesn't matter. The lasers modulate very much the same way a color wheel does in a lamp based DLP projector. Smarthomehookup has good videos covering RBE in various projectors including triple laser units similar to this one. That being said the triple laser units generally show less RBE compared to lower end lamp based projectors (usually equivalent to a 6x color wheel or better). The only way to get away from RBE is by moving to three DLP chips only seen in ultra high end units.

My dilemma also. Valerion Max specs look better, mainly the contrast ratio, so I'm going with it. Not to mention the kickstarter price will likely make it slightly cheaper than the Hisense C2 Ultra, all while being the more expensive one. Plus if it is anything like Awol's UST projectors, it will be excellent. They know what they are doing. Hisense C2 comes to market in a week or so, so reviews should be plentiful. I think there are a few erroneous claims in this review. IMAX enhanced will not gain you access to different aspect ratios or IMAX specific content. IMAX enhanced is a lot like the old THX certified label. It’s marketing that says the product meets some specific performance targets set by imax and ultimately means nothing. I would also question the color gamut coverage/accuracy of these models. A lot of these makes are making some pretty bold claims about color accuracy that don’t actually end of being true in any form or fashion. I did see you throw up a cie 1931 chart at one point. Did you measure that or was that provided by the company?
