Around late 90’s (I guess it was summer of 1997) we went to Arshan with my family. Arshan is a small town of Republic of Buryatia, around 200 km far from my hometown Irkutsk. There was kinda a highway directed right to the mountain range which can be viewed in a distance (so delightful sight). And this highway had a little springboards one by one. That was fun to experience that jumps on the road while seated in my father’s car driving pretty fast. And at that moment my father noticed a stork flying in parallel to us over the forest glade drawing my attention on this flying big bird as well. And that very fragment of my life caused the creating of «On the Stork’s Wings».

На до же. Я коренной Москвич волею судеб был в Аршане в далёком 1983 году. Служил в Забайкальском военном округе. Как художник ездил по командировкам оформлял войсковые части. Гусино озёрск, Выдрино. Улан-Удэ. и тд. Типа наглядная агитация. Помню только в Аршане какие то горячие лечебные источники. Да и огромное спасибо за высокое искусство. Мне выросшему в семье джазового музыканта с детства погруженного в творчество Чик Кореа, Херби Хэнкока, Куинси Джонса и т.д. С годами стало всё трудней находить интересную музыку. А тут такая кладезь. Всем музыкантам работающим во всех проектах с тобой Валерий, так же огромная благодарность. Вы лучшие. С нетерпением жду новых шедевров.

I've already brought so many to my heart like the new generation Snarky Puppy, Dirty Loops, Jacob Collier, Cory Henry, and of course everything that was so popular in jazz, fusion, funk, soul, instrumental music for the last 40 years. I was very impressed and musically accompanied by many things. But since I came across Valeriys channel years ago, my point of view has shifted a lot. I have met few, very few, who transport and live the spirit and the feeling for music like Valeriy. He's a full package in terms of versatility, God inoculated him with music, feeling and technique. And he can touch and create emotions with his songs like "Long for you" and "Wish you could love me forever" or the cover "Clair de lune". That could actually primarily classic genius's, he creates in the 21st Century. He has something that others don't have, difficult to describe. I play drums, piano, trumpet, some bass and I´m doing audio and video recordings. Like so many others, I know what I'm talking about. For me he is the new master, and what impresses me beyond that, he goes into the studio alone and knocks out a bomb song, all instruments, singing, everything recorded, mixed, mastered and still great in video editing. Few, very few, like Jacob Collier, can do it at this level! Have you ever noticed how great his productions are always mixed? Not to mention, he's doing it all by himself, and that's so impressive! His way of arranging and producing is on a very high musical level, I think he is now one of the best in the world! There are thousands of brilliant musicians in this world, but when I listen to Valeriy there is always a bit more, whatever it may be... but of course that may all be a matter of taste, to each his own;-) Greets

I’m a musician who plays guitar, drrums, bass and various things.. and all I can say is: well put.. I couldn’t agree more. Valeriy is on a different level. The only description is UNIVERSE CLASS. p.s having had music in my life since I was a baby and I’m 37 now, I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of music; I have to say, one of the most beautiful songs I’ve EVER HEARD, is Valeriy Stepanov’s Remebering The Past at Late Night. It touches the very soul of anyone who REALLY loves music. I want it to be played at my funeral. Along with Milk It by Nirvana.
