VALETON GP-200 Worship Tones (including 2 Tone Matched IRs) Best budget pedalboard solution?

A lot of the other GP 200 reviews focus on heavily over-driven tones but this is an excellent run down of the melodic tones you can get from this unit. Great guitar playing too! My GP 200 arrives today so am looking forward to checking out some of these tones myself. Thank you for such a great review Dave.

@@mrpositroniaHi - to be honest, I’m still finding my way around it at the moment! There are plenty of interesting presets but I haven’t delved too deeply into designing tones for myself. The tones in this video are great but my sound design knowledge is quite limited so I need to experiment a lot more to achieve similar results. So I’ve relied more heavily on using a preset or just choosing an amp and pedals, which has worked out ok so far. I’ve done some recording too and the tone results have been pretty good, but I’m still working on finding a tone close to Johnny Marr’s jangly Smiths sound and the chorus/crunchy sound of The Jam. Not sure if that helps but if you have any specific questions about the GP200, then by all means ask.

@@mattmod7603 Thanks for the reply. I can imagine it's a deep well of just 'stuff 'that takes time to discover. I had a Zoom pedal about 20 years ago which required some time to set up just one patch, so I can understand. From what I've heard, generally though, is that this pedal has very usable sounds, and after setting ups patches that you want to use, it should be quite easy to operate. I expect finding preset patches and altering/removing effects is a quick way to get at least near you want to be, before just getting stuck in and building from scratch.

@ Yes I would say it’s very easy to use. You can certainly make use of the many presets before delving deeper into tone creation. The unit is well constructed and the display is very clear - it shows each amp & pedal’s position within the effects chain, which can be re-organised to suit your own preference. The downloadable desk top is also worth mentioning as it is much easier to select and create tones when the unit is connected to a computer.
