I hav exactly the same Maser QP 4.7 in exactly the same color. Bought it since new n it’s sitting in my garage with 42k miles in excellent condition. I love my Maserati n hope to keep it forever.

Thank you for watching Steve! You picked the right color for your Maserati. You can't go wrong with the Bordeaux Pontevecchio. Do continue to keep it in the garage and out of the sun. The high heat in the cabin from a day out in the sun will melt the finish on all plastic surfaces in the car, giving them a sticky feel.

Valentin Cristea The original velvet feeling texture-paint on buttons deteriorates n become sticky. Ferrari also hav that problem. Several solutions are posted on KZbin n i used guitar fret board cleaner n a solution from Singapore. With my daughter, i was able to completely wipe off the sticky substance. It’s now clean n smooth to the touch. But the paint indicating function still remain perfectly 1 cheap upgrade i did was i bought a 30-pin to bluetooth adaptor for the 30-pin iphone plug in glove compartment. Now i play music from my iphone music library in wireless digital sound via bluetooth. The leather used in interior turned out to be super thin n curled up in several places. Local leather recondition company called it “onion skin”. I had them re-do the whole interior n now it looks n smells brand new. Enjoyed your review. 👍

Thank you for the hint on how to clean the sticky buttons in the Maserati. And yes, you are 100% correct with the skin thin leather being used on some surfaces in the Maserati (think front and rear center consoles, edge of door panels, etc). Stay tuned, we will post a video comparison between a 2012 Maserati Granturismo Gran Cabrio and a 2007 Aston Martin Volante.

@Valentin Cristea I am eyeing a 2012 Maserati Gran Turismo MC Stradale. Tempting! I hav a question for you. Do you know if the driver’s seat from Gran Turismo will fit on the tracks of the QP? Bcoz i think, in my QP, the suspension in sport-mode easily out class the seats; QP factory seats are JUUUUST a bit too slippery for me.
@ValEuroSport3 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, I think the Quattroporte seats are better quality than the GranTurismo. At least for the pre 2013 year model. Maybe I am wrong but both of the 2012 Granturismo (coupe and convertibles) I have had, seem to have the same problem. The seats are thinly bolstered and don't feel as comfortable as the Quattroporte. I actually happen to have a 11 QP and a 12 GT convertible sitting in my garage right now so I was able to measure the tracks as per your request. They do not have the same dimensions. I measured 18 1/2" between the outer edges of the QP and 17 3/4" for the GT.

what a great video - great to see all the little things on these cars being appreciated (door close, rear seats, wooden wheel etc). I think that car is actually the newer (facelifted) 4.7 with about 430 or 440 hp. I daily drive a 2007 4.2 and I will NEVER sell it :)

I have this model a 2009 Quattroporte S 4.7L Executive GT. I modified my exhaust and added exhaust valves and removed the resonator. Made a huge difference on how it sounds and opened up some horsepower.

I once had a 2007 Quattroporte with the 4.2L engine that someone removed its muffler. You could hear this car coming around the BLOCK! I ended up having to replace the muffler otherwise nobody wanted to buy it :-)
@matt338763 жыл бұрын
@@ValEuroSport that's why you install muffler valves or modify the factory ones if your car doesn't have it.

I enjoyed your review, thank you, multumesc. Fifth generation Quattroporte will be wanted after a while, due to its values: advanced technology and sense of aesthetics combined in a way that virtually no others than Italians (when they succeed) can realize. Greetings from Finland, Tampere, where we rarely see Maseratis.

Most of these (yes, even the ZF auto models that tend to command slightly more money than their manual predecessors) regularly go for below the $30k mark. The caveat is that it's not cheap to maintain a Ferrari-and-then-some car.

These cars have been more reliable than you expect. Now if you could keep yourself from unnecessary opening ANY windows in the car, using the sun visors, AND adjusting the seats, you might just have a Honda reliable car :-)))
