Additional fun fact for the cheesing method: What you hit when building the staircase wasn't a skybox, but the vertical height limit of your workbench. The second workbench you put down would have allowed you to build even higher if you had wanted to.
@ESOdanny3 жыл бұрын
I meant the skybox of the workbench, essentually at that point you know your high enough to maintain agro from the boss but not get mobs spawning on you. Thanks for clarifying that its the workbench range to people though, it does sound rather confuseing the way i worded it.

@sireromen53643 жыл бұрын
You see its not cheese strats, but rather masterfully planning as Odin would have. You think odin would charge at a slithering mass of waste with a club? Not alone, not a chance. He would have built a platform from which to rain his spite upon his enemies.
@baccusx133 жыл бұрын
I found out that using an iron sledge or even a stagbreaker is really handing to get rid of the Draugrs and blobs inside the sunken Crypts because the AoE goes beyond the corners and scrap piles and unlike the bow, the monsters tries to continue attacking you so they keep getting into your AoE range. Nice video btw
@CrauGaming3 жыл бұрын
I believe the poison resist is 75% reduced, not 50%. As a reference, normally Blobs poison ticks for 4 dmg, with the potion it deals 1 dmg. Corpse Run buff giving you the same worded resistance towards physical dmg (Very resistant) states 75% aswell.
@emielverbeeren81813 жыл бұрын
No but yes. It reduces the damage by 50% and also shortens the duration by 50% so in total the damage reduction is indeed 75%. However if you're being poisoned again and again the shortened duration won't really have an effect. So I would say the actual effective reduction is somewhere in between 50% and 75%

FYI this boss (and subsequent ones) were recently buffed with higher HP (and possibly DPS) stats in the recent beta patch; though the tree-platform-cheese method still works for some people, bonemass seems to be willing to walk away from you if you're too high to hit with potentially new aggro AI.

Bonemass was the easiest boss for me to kill. The Elder was much tougher imo. For Bonemass I just got my HP around 130, pounded some healing and poison resistance meads, hopped right onto the big altar skull and shot the mass with 100+ frost arrows. None of the adds or melee attacks can get to you (although the poison may hit you, but that's no issue with the potions). Boom, Bonemass dead in 5-10 minutes on first try.

I explored the mountains a bit before Bonemass as the mountain biome was on my starter island. Got 3 drakes with my bow which was very doable, obsidion galore in the mountains so had 60 frost arrows. They helped a lot. Also was using a crypt to kite him around. In the end it was about 20% hp down with my bow and the rest was kiting around the crypt and making use of the terrain (have him take the long way around while you heal) and just smashing him with my mace. Very rewarding 20 minutes 😀.

Parrying bosses doesn't give you any bonus to the damage. Also never mentioned that you really want to get both "Rested" and "Eikthyr power" buffs before the bossfight, this helps a lot.
@cdgonepotatoes42193 жыл бұрын
Parrying still provides a defense bonus so YOU don't get staggered for trying to block a hit stronger than what you could hold, also I think it costs less stamina? With Eikthyr's power and rested 4 though that should be negligible.

Not sure if it is a new addition but we found the iron sledgehammer to be a lot more effective in the crypts. you can use it without having to fully open most muddy scrap piles. just open it enough so you can get close enough to the mobs to do damage from the safety of the other room. (Obviously this will not work every time as some rooms are large and the mobs are too far away from the radius of the sledge but it works 9 times out of 10) Also we just completely Bonemass last night... the iron sledgehammer did not do damage to him at all. We may have had some sort of glitch. Three of us fought him for 4 hours and only got him down to 30% health, by which time we were out of food. We had blobs and skelatons dropping from the trees, on the roof of our treehouse about 10 meters in the air, and it was an impossible fight. We regrouped and came back a couple days later and had him dead in about half an hour using the iron mace. CRAZY battle!

I usually go and do this boss if I die and I need to level up my bowskill. Just build a little treehouse some place near the boss, summon him and hurry on up there. If you build it high enough none if his attacks reaches you, so you can stand there and shoot him all you want. If you are maxing out your bow skill (which I highly suggest you should) this is a great way to do it. The bow can be fired in full auto mode almost with no draw time.

another cheese strategy: build a teleporter near the boss fight but in a area where he cannot destroy the teleport, then bring food with you, then fight him normally until you die. Teleport back to the boss and go grab your corpse immediately as grabbing your corpse gives you the passive corpse run. The passive corpse run will give you super defense and super recovery for over a minute giving you psuedo god mode for while, eat again to have higher health and fight him again until you die, rinse and repeat until defeated. With a mace it took me about 5 minutes. This can be done with every bosses as teleporter + corpse run is OP.

Bcs he doesn´t despawn you can always run to your items pick them up and equip armour(with this method you need only weak armor like bronze and somewhat decent weapon so it won´t take that long) and weapons and hit him in 1 min corpse run window and repeat. We can stack objects on top of one another while avoiding collision using small pieces of floor or beams to act as a ledge, but the piece can stay attached to wall pieces if they touch regardless if these floor or beams break.

I’ve already started making poison resist mead… I haven’t even killed the elder on my current world yet. I’m over preparing and making sure I have enough shit to last a while.

I feel that lol. Solo player here and I am just getting kitted out with bronze gear. Progress is good and steady though. Going for the Elder solo soon.

The game has pretty good reviews, I didn't try it but I have some trust issues with rpgs coz they get boring quite fast
@codyw.39283 жыл бұрын
@@joe.4879 honestly I feel the same way, but this game does an amazing mixture of grinding but exploring in the same progress. The grinding isn’t much of a chore it’s more of an adventure every time you leave your house. It’s especially worth it for 20$

Cheese Strat: You can actually just use Ice arrows and kite him.
@Lathander813 жыл бұрын
He already said you wouldnt have ice arrows when you fight him. Plus the mace is even easier than that
@Jerichoswa113 жыл бұрын
@@Lathander81 I have access to ice arrows, and I haven't beaten him. After making frost resistance potions, bloodsacs are the only missing thing from the swamp, and then you can go and explore the mountains. Obsidian is common in the mountains.

honestly i would just tank the poision attack you can get like 9 hits in it and just heal the poision with meads and pots if you are perpared so enough

Okay I have all the gear, fully upgraded it all, got the best food and potions ready, cleared out all spawners in the area and put a portal next to the boss, now all I need is to get gud.

Not sure it is necessary but getting a rested buff might help.

Could also use campfires to cheese the 3rd boss.
@ClashClash893 жыл бұрын
alright... here is the thing... i scouted 2 swamps without finding any locator stones for bonemass, but got all the stuff to get some frost resist mead. so i went to the mountain and killed a few drakes and mined some obsidian (were obsidian is supposed to be^^), and now i got 2 stacks of frost arrows waiting to meet bonemass... soo whoever said 'frost arrows are tricky to get', seems to be peddling some nonesense... (if they are worth the 'effort' is smth i cant judge yet)

Worst part of this boss for me was every time he attacked I'd drop down to 3 FPS. Game was almost frozen. Even on lowest settings for everything. Made timing the blocks a nightmare.
