Awesome. Here's hoping the devs will consider floating rock a feature instead of a bug. I've been wondering whether this sort of thing would work ever since I had a rock pillar NOT tumble down around me when I hacked out the bottom. Nice to see somebody prove it -- and with so beautiful a creation! Very inspirational!

Also can do the same with veins of silver and possibly copper though you don't get the vertical. Once had a larger silver vein perfectly exposed - thought to make it a floating ceiling show piece as had a lot of space under it.

hmm, I excavated the ground around and under the rock pilar except for the part where I raise the ground. I raise the ground underneath the rock pillar but it doesn't move. was it Patched already?

Did you hit the maximum height of the raise when you tried that? And with the recent patch, they've fixed the way you can raise the ground (you can only raise it little by little now). That's all I know. Thanks for watching btw :D

yes all max height with the raised ground with the recent patch, the stone won't budge, I'm gonna try breaking the stone down to a smaller size, and lets hope ..lol

If they patch the stone they likely won't be able to patch the ore. All ore floats once escavated otherwise we could use the antler pick to get silver. My winter base is a floating castle off of one of the silver veins I excavated on top of the mountain.

How do u raised the rock even higher? I tried hoeing it but raising the ground doesnt push the rock monolith higher into the air

Good question. It's also the optical illusion that make the rock look like it's floating higher when it's on the hill side, sloping down. And you can try dig down a little bit to increase the height between the ground and the rock Thanks for watching!

Good questions, I didn't find any deathsquito up there. For the trees, I tried it and it just "sunk" into the ground whenever I dug down, not working. Thanks for watching!

There are very cool trees in mistlands that you can climb from inside (under textures). They are thick enough even for living there :)))) I haven't yet tried it, maybe you?

How did you get the bottom row of stone blocks on the outer ring? I can build stone on top of iron beams but when I try to make a lower layer it crumbles.

Hey, thanks for watching! It's one of the giant monoliths, you can raise the earth to hold it; the monolith itself can't be raised though. What you see here is the giant monolith after I dug out the bottom part of it. It was kept floating by the earth I raised, then when I removed the raised earth, the game keeps the rock floating like that. Sorry if my explanation in the video wasn't clear enough.

Hey thanks for watching. Sorry if I haven't explained clearly in the video, but the process was raising the ground (about 8-10m from the bottom of the rock) to hold the rock/pillar, then sculpting the rock, dug out the bottom, then removing the earth that I raised at the beginning, a glitch in the game would keep the rock floating at that point.
