@@exiteternium there's always one who has to make such a comment, lol. But there are plenty of videos on base defences. This isn't one of them. I'm showing my builds for inspiration. Defences are easily added, based on preferences.

@@hellkat71 i'm just commenting my troll PTSD after making a pretty decent starter base.. kill eikthyr, and BOOM ground shakes half of base destroyed, along with my chests.. and with the updates trolls are now a HUGE threat and pain.. i miss the OG parry with no damage.

@exiteternium I still remember my first troll encounter like it was yesterday! Apparently, they are WAY worse in VR 🤣 I don't think I'm brave enough to try that, lol. I've lost a chunk of a base to a troll raid, and it wasn't fun, but funnily enough, it's only happened to me once. The rest of the time, I've managed to run the trolls around until the raid is over, then either kill them or lead them away from my base and shake them loose to roam elsewhere.

@@hellkat71 i got 3 raids in a few hours of playing.. i ended up making a trench, and a terrain wall that is big enough for me to squeek by, but too small for trolls. when they game released in Early Access, the plains biome (with the LOX, and wheat} was last biome back then you could parry trolls with good timing with a shield or weapon, and you'd take no damage performing a parry, they've added more mechanics and biomes now, and the game is completely different from what it was, even stamina drains a metric F ton faster now. if you had 100 Stamina before, you could run from on side of an island to the other. now you're lucky to make it 60 meters unless you have eikthyr buff. basically they followed the hardcore crowd like 7 days did, instead of the casual gamer, and alienated a decent player base in the process. IMO the EA version was the most fun. trolls where still a threat, but it was like you where viking of legend fighting a Jotunn

@@MrJ-b1n my early game bases all still exist on the worlds I created them on. I don't tear them down just because I've progressed to the Ashlands.

@@MrJ-b1n anyway, this was created on a build server, where I can play with all sorts of builds without enemy interference or raids. How does what I am wearing affect the build? It remains an early game base, as it is made with meadows and forest mats, which makes it possible to build early in the game.
