I'd love to see you put up a village in the mountain. I'm just imagining how much cozier all these houses would be if everything outside was covered in snow.. I really wish Valheim supported different seasons
@9byte
@9byte 2 жыл бұрын
Seasons would be cool for sure. I was thinking about doing my next build in the black forest. Its a little darker and feels a lot more cozy in the those trees than the meadows trees. The problem I had when I was building the Mountain Top Castle build in the Mountains was that the sun glare on all of the roofs was insaneeeeee. Super annoying. Not sure why they made snow on roofs reflect the sun so brightly tbh. But yeah a village in the mountains would still be really cool, I'll think about it. Thanks

Man, I cannot even imagine/appreciate enough, how much work you put into all of this, the building AND the editing, which is amazing as well! 👍 I have so many favourite parts and areas, I cannot even name them all, a few of them beeing all the waterways and bridges, the winding docks and walkways, the views, the balconies and galeries inside some of the houses, just to name a few. This has to be one of my absolute favourite build projects in Valheim, and I have seen a ton of them. 👏👏👏 Would you consider uploading the worldfile somewhere? I would love to take a stroll through this lovely village, and I am sure I'm not the only one! 😊
@9byte
@9byte 2 жыл бұрын
Much appreciated! It was over a month of work! Thanks. It's nice to hear what parts people were thinking about. and I do the same thing! I love seeing what every body is creating in Valheim. It's always cool to see how far people have pushed the game. Currently I am not offering the save file. I had some issues in the past with people claiming that my Minecraft saves were theres. They took the save files that I offered for free and made content out of them on multiple forms of social media. It was a big hassle to get it all taken down so I really don't know when I will offer these save files up for download. Sorry for the bad news. I have seen your name so many times I want to offer the most information I could on the situation. Eventually I will offer the saves somewhere, I just don't know when or where yet and they may only be on Patreon behind like a 3$ a month paywall to discourage people from stealing them. We will see! Thanks for stopping by again!!!

All of my Valheim content will be offered behind a pay wall on patreon (whenever I get that set up in the next couple of months) so that people are less likely to steal the content and claim it as their own. I wish I could just give it out but I've have people steal my work in the past and its a huge hassle getting it all taken down. I know that's not what you wanted to hear though, sorry my friend. Thank you very much for the kind words.

@@9byte I'll defiantly back you. Nobody should claim the work you did is theirs. I get it, it happens. You may want to talk with a copyright lawyer. Its not a costly as you might think. Even under free use licenses, one must give credit where its do. Both KZbin and the Feds can help. There are huge fines involved and the Feds love to make money :) You may not make any off the scammers, but lawyers will take your case if they get to keep the proceeds. Big business like Disney and other have really built up good IP laws (Intellectual property) and there is a lot of backing for smaller creators like yourself and its growing. Again really good work

The frustrating part of these video's is I see some really nice builds.........HOWEVER, on a server with other people (not private) the area is active even if your not there IF someone else just happens to be there......meaning the area is susceptible to attack by raid events, night spawn, etc which of course means damage and destruction. Many of the builds i've been seeing have little to no defenses against such attacks, not to mention that this 'attack' could go on for 2 minutes or more (if there are stragglers) if someone just decides to shelter in place without a care for your lovely build. Not to mention that defenses that could be implemented (trench or earth wall) does detract from the beauty of the build most times.

This is so impressive! Awesome tour, subbed for sure. It makes me feel bad about my attempt at a Valheim village. In fact, I'm tempted to just start over from scratch. Now I feel pretty crummy, unsubbed and disliked. Though, you have provided a lot of inspiration, so the dislike is a bit harsh. I've removed the dislike, so now it's like I was never here. I do want to see more of your content though, so subbed and clicked notification bell. Also liked vid as it was awesome. Keep up the good work.

@9byte
@9byte 2 жыл бұрын
I used creative for this. It took me over a month to complete and film everything. It would have taken too long without creative. I need to work quick for the KZbin videos. It's nice to be able to build fast but I wouldn't recommend using it unless you are really getting into the building.

I would love to know how u find these places. Do u just use a random seed and scout around? Or what do u look out for when placing these villages? (Close to dark forest etc etc…)?
@9byte
@9byte Жыл бұрын
For these videos I use random seeds and I use devcommands to fly and find the best spots quickly. Meadows or Black forest usually. I let the environment do the work if you know what I mean.. I always choose south facing because the sun is more on the southern side so that means better lighting for the front of my builds for KZbin.

@@9byte Oooh thank u so much ! i am new to valheim since yesterday and i was looking for builds, came across ur channel but they all so advanced haha. Doesnt black forest has npc what attack ur base aswell?
@9byte
@9byte Жыл бұрын
@@Vlambulance no problem glad I could help. Yes there are enemies in the Black forest that will attack your base but there are also enemies in the meadows biome that will attack your base and in every biome for that matter. Meadows will be the easiest and then it will be Black Forest, Swamp, Mountain, Plains, and Mistlands in increasing difficulty. You can protect your base with walls, raising ground, lowering ground, or by fighting. Fighting the bosses of the game will unlock progressively better loot available in your world save and will also bring you naturally in the order of biomes mentioned above(in general). There are also raids(on your base). The more bosses you fight in a world save the more types of raids you are eligible to get raided by. So you will need to fight bosses to get progressively better loot but at the same time you will have to use that better loot to defend your base from more difficult raids.

They should really fix that instance and frame thing or even change the engine if Unity is the problem. If not, some better working clone of Valheim can kick them out and make them drop in number of players.
@9byte
@9byte 2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. I think it is a big risk to not focus on optimizing game performance. I'm hoping that by the time the game is out of early access that it will be better. My theory is that they want to "finish" the base game and then they will focus on optimizing. Like if they focus on optimizing now and then they add a bunch of new stuff they will just have to optimize again so maybe they are waiting finish adding all of the big stuff to complete the base game and then they will be able to better optimize. Just a guess tho.

Awesome village, beautifully detailed. If I'm being nitpicky I have one criticism though. You are far from the only who who does this but, the village feels a bit isolated. Like, where's the front door, you know? Walking from the woods into the village I'd assume it might feel a little.. unceremonious. Even if it was just some paths/roads that extended from the village, it would feel a little more 'connected' to the rest of the world. I always try to connect my builds/villages believably into the rest of the world. I kinda ask myself "well, how would people enter the village? if theyre coming from over here, what kind of entrance would makes sense? You do have an awesome dock system that addresses this a bit, but there's foot traffic too! Also, the lack of walls or some kind of outer perimeter seems like a missed opportunity too, although with a village this small I can see why that sort of thing wouldn't be necessary as well, and I do have to admit I like how your village blends into the surrounding wooded area. Over all I think you did a beautiful job, this is just one little thing I noticed that I think you may want to consider for next time. Through your videos I have learned a lot too, so I thank you for that. keep it up!
@9byte
