Valheim Hearth and Home Update - New Darkwood build - Gatehouse

Welcome to the Valheim Hearth and Home Update and my First Darkwood build using the new structure set that comes with the update.
This Darkwood set needs Tar to build it, the Tar protects the structures against the weather.
The new structures have a lot of great details on them and are a nice addition to the existing Building pieces.
I have built the Gatehouse for my Town and completely refurbished it using the new Hearth and Home Structures :)

Holy shit you just blew my mind with the whole “film yourself destroying the building” You’re actually a savage builder and the videos are always sooo clean. You’ve helped me learn a lot as I spend more time trying to do 2 star enemy hardcore runs with epic loot mod blah blah. I wish I would’ve been building earlier but the new build pieces for this update have me really wanting to do many different things. LOVE the dark wood color they added I think it’s great. Great job. On the build of course AND the way you do your videos is truly unlike anyone else’s.

I always enjoy copying/adapting your builds and learning a lot in the process. One thing baffles me however, how on earth did you get the "stone floor 2x2" tiles at the bottom of the round (octagonal?) tower to clip together like that. I spent way too long trying to get them like that, before giving up and using something "good enough" but not the same.

Do you pick random seeds for you building game or do you have good seeds with good spots to build?

I can't imagine how much resources this took. It takes me literally forever just to gather enough wood to build a 6x10 house

About the only thing i wish we could do with building is making the angled/pointed over hangs that you see on viking buildings, but the only ways to o it in game is trying to finesse the angled beams or messing with the roof parts and getting weird results. They should really just add in said points just as parts that you can stick onto the A frame toppers.

Beautiful setup. Question for you....this is the new update correct? I see you flying around...my understanding is all that is not available in the new game. And resources from what I read, are only available on what u can carry on your body. Every else has to be newly acquired 🤔can you explain please....
