I usually do an exterior shell but I've never tried a full foundation... Now I'm honestly curious... Usually my buildings arent that big though so I doubt it's worth it, usually I just build a small circle hut and that's plenty.

I can't upload my modified version of your design but I substituted the wood panels used in the large A frames with glass blocks. Thank you! I built this house for the most part. Changed the stairs to a spiral staircase from the basement to the 2nd level. Then made the basement expand underneath to the kitchen/bar area. Just put the long core wood for vertical supports. Was able to fit 2 blast furnaces, 3 smelters, 2 kilns, fully upgraded forge, fully upgraded workstation, a bunch of chests, and 3 looms down there. I’m tempted to try to get the basement underneath the the 1st floor forge area, but I’m scared of the stone floor collapsing

This is an example of how a combination of simple things may result on very good buildings, no need to become crazy or to try too weird things. To my personal taste, I don't like excessively framed roofs, they're so cool when those frames are a detail but lose all their charm when they become a patron. But that's just my personal preference. Very nice job (I'm an experienced and grumpy builder, more "grumpy" than "experienced" or "builder", so I don't say this so often haha)

Another awesome build. I didn't think I'd like the idea, but I grew to like the more functional idea of this one as everyone can relate to this house being that we are all crafters or Blacksmith's in a way. So reasons to love this build even more. I liked how you ended up carving out a basement which was awesome. I kinda wish though you showed a before and after of it so it could be seen what you did with the basement as it would look like just another unrecognized room if you weren't aware. What I've learned from you most is "framing" from all these videos. The decore is more individual creativity.

Very pretty but a huge amount of pieces for the server to keep track of. Glad to see someone that doesn't use mods or 3rd party stuff or cheat mode. I tend to build on the fly in dangerous areas and then expand slowly over time but with 2 of us the desync can be annoying. Not sure exactly why it happens but I try to keep piece counts down. Building in live games with events and regular dangers is what makes it interesting, for me, in making something nice looking but practical.

I have the same thing. Also cannot place the stone floor on the upper floor, nothing but the blocks in the corner will stay up. Either this is from an earlier build or I'mm doing something wrong! I have checked and doublechecked all the floor connection points and they are identical to the video so I am at a loss. Shame as I was looking forward to doing this build on my world :-(

Join the discord; he answers questions about every build he makes. For this one, once you're able to get the stone pillars up, it should be enough to hold the whole roof up. I used wood iron pillars as temporary supports before I got the stone up, but it's up to you
@KC-bg1th
@KC-bg1th 3 жыл бұрын
@@chrisbrown8677 To get the blocks to stay up, temporarily build a wooden beam underneath them until the floor is touching the other side of the wall. Think of it like it one side of a bridge doesn’t touch land, it’ll collapse under its weight, but if both sides are connected, the bridge won’t collapse. Just delete the wooden beams underneath afterward and you should be good, providing you aren’t building too far away from the foundation. I had the same problem you were having, and I think the recent update might have actually fixed this as it may have been a bug? Either way, my solution should work for you.
