This is a build that was requested by a subscriber, I dont normally build with stone, but im very happy with how this build turned out. I tested out a few variations in my friend nata's world as he has quite a large castle and wanted a few towers around it, so quick thanks to him for letting me test out designs in his world o/ I hope you guys enjoy the video, and for those of you who read the comment in the last video that I would be fighting the dragon before this video, I managed to beat it \o/ also I never quite know what to say to compliments but I have recieved a lot of kind comments praising both the videos and the builds, and while I might not know what to say a lot of the time, I really appriciate everyone who has commented with either praise or critique. thank you guys o/

I know who that subscriber was ;). It was a little too small for a portal tower, so I doubled the diameter and created a second floor halfway up the tower. I couldn't have done it without this video. Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the amazing work. Here's the finished work based off of your video if you're interested: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2463947670

I love that you did this in survival mode. So much easier to follow without all the floating around
@ZerosterGuides5 ай бұрын
Thanks! I like to make my guides in survival mode so they are as easy as possible to follow, I know I have been discouraged from trying to make buildings long ago by people using flight, because it felt as if I would need so much more effort and problem solving to get the same result.

Thank you for these videos. You do this like noone else: you are in survival mode, you give us a clear blueprint of the foundations, and you show us how much resources we need! Thank you!

You seem to have a talent for keeping a build simple while still being able to make it look alive with details & intricacies. I have no idea how to do that, and watching it happen in your videos is really cool.
@ZerosterGuides3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Its a building style iv used for a very long time, Both me and the friend I play creative games with most have a very "small and functional but still pretty" mindset when it comes to builds. that is mainly in space engineers though rather than valheim but Im glad it appears to have translated well into valheim.
@americanbuffalo78023 жыл бұрын
Great job again. I really appreciate how you make practical builds, not using mostly mods or devcommands. Too many build channels make things that just are pretty, but don't translate well if you actually are wanting to use the build in normal game play.
@makowako60353 жыл бұрын
This is amazing, as always! Like I said in my comment on your previous viddeo: don't stop making these, they are the best Valheim build tutorials in the community. A few ideas if I may be so free to give them: - A portal hub (either small, medium or large) - A farm house - a normal house, that solely focusses on getting max comfort level for the rested buff. - a brewery - A Carrot/Turnip/Barley/Flax farm plot (can be combined with the farm house) - a wall or any other defensive structure (to defend your base from the events) - a tree farm plot - a boar/wolf/lox breeding pen - a bakery Seriously though, keep up the good work! My base in Valheim only has your buildings in it: The starter base, the storage house, the logging cabin and the blacksmith. It has proven to be one amazing base so far, so thank you!
@ammoodz23132 жыл бұрын
Some of the best tutorials for Valheim hands down. I love the detail that you put into these videos...like opening up a lego set for the first time. For the best scaffolding: "F5, devcommands, debugmode, (press z)"

I have been following a number of builders on you tube and only just found your channel. This is simply head and shoulders above the rest in terms of presentation and building. Building in survival without any god mode flying and resource assist is gold. Your design is superb as well. I really appreciate all the time and effort. Thank you! Subbed and liked!

Built this twice - once over water, and once on land. The water version was difficult, since I could not build the scaffolding. The scaffolding is the key to having the stone stack accurately. The second one, in a Plains base, is absolutely perfect, however, I left the upper walls empty - I didn't place the merlons and I can see out from the tower much better without crenels. Also, I used a spiral stair using 1x1 floors coming out from the core wood center. It looks much better than the core wood stairs - no jumping... Thanks for the build. Worked like a charm.

Just found this video today and what an amazing tutorial. Not only was it very easy to follow, but your style made a simple tower "pop". I loved the detail of rotating the vertical wood beams near the top of the tower to not be flush and give it more shape.

Of all the build videos I've watched yours have definitely been the most inspiring for my own builds! They are also clear, concise, and relaxing to watch, an admirable feat. 😊 I recently built a castle and absolutely struggled with making my towers look good. Part of me wishes I had seen this so I could have stolen a few inspiration points for my own design. 😅

A few ideas: portal room big or small (12 or 4 portals), small houses for 1 task, like a bakery for the bread with a windmill, cooking house for the rest of the food, butcher with boar pen, a small workbench place with all the expansions and the same for blacksmith (different houses), a small farm with field for the crops, a smelter house for smelting the ores, a decorative defence gate for a stakewall around the base, so you'll have a small town with houses that have a function :)
@ZerosterGuides3 жыл бұрын
Iv had similar thought about houses with single functions but I gotta say I really like the idea of a bakery. never really thought of that one and deffinitely going to add it to my to do list.

Man, I love your guides, they are so easy to follow and your builds are so nice. Any plans on some sort of portal hub type building? That's my next project.
@ZerosterGuides3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, and a portal hub is actually my next project as well, I have a few conflicting idea's * A Portal Hall that doubles as a Trophie Hall, * A circular stone Portal Room that has a storage room for quickly droping off items, * An adaptation of the Portal Hub in my day 250 MP base tour video, more of a "Portal Grove" than a Portal Room or Building, I dont quite know which one I will pick for the video yet, but I hope I gave you some idea's.

@christianowens72333 жыл бұрын
The only change I would make is to alternate stone courses between single 1x2 and double 1x1 so that you get that line in the center rather than stacked columns. But that's so minor and would add less to the finished look than the time it takes to do it. Still, that's part of what makes stone so very very fiddly. That and all the snap points. That is a very nice little build indeed.

Building is fun. Sadly I usually get so involved doing it I forget to eat. Which leads to my noob "talent" missing jumps and falling to my death. As a side point... I am lousy at building anyway even with detailed how-to vids like this. LoL. Oh well. Really nice building once again.
@Billy-bd2oe10 ай бұрын
Great build, I use free flying how ever, I just do not have the patience to fall to my death and lose xp, i only use fly as a cheat during building, otherwise i play the game as intended, with just a few quality of life mods, like a trash bin for crap, better paths as to give paths a purpose which the vanilla game lacks(one moves faster on stone paths etc with this mod) and of course plant everything mod, for beautification of my builds =)

Hello! I know this tutorial is pretty old, but do you have to jump up the spiral stairs? or am i building them wrong edit: i also wanted to say i really like your build videos!
@ZerosterGuides2 жыл бұрын
with this design of spiral staircase, you do need to jump to go up them, it is possible to make a spiral staircase you can climb without jumping but it takes a long time to make (using regular wooden beams) also thank you I'm glad you enjoy the videos
