Valheim - how to label chests

In this video I show how to set labels on your chests while hiding the sign, this uses no mods, totally vanilla, and there's not a lot of finicky building to get it to work, this doesn't work on sideways chests (narrow way).
I like using this because the sign can't be accessed afterward, so once your sign is set, it can't accidently be changed.
I did a quick search, didn't see this come up figured I would share it.

Just found out that the signs are html addressable! So you can also change the color just do ' chestName'

You can see the bottom of the sign so you can change the name if you air at the right place.

If you hang the sign out from the bottom floor piece, I don't know, the way I place my sign (regressed a little bit back of the front of the floor piece) you can't access it by moving your mouse over the sign at the bottom, the collision mesh of the chest is in front of it, even if the graphic of the bottom of the sign looks like its there.

Great video! Wish i found it sooner, now all my chests are upgraded, does this work with black metal chest?

Thanks, and no, the bottom of the Black metal chest curves outwards, so the sign doesn't work the same. It needs a flat surface to work as the letters are only raised off the sign slightly. If you could lift the sign and still place the chest so the sign is behind the chest, but i wasn't able to get it to work.

I like the effect but is it possible to have storage chests with text if the wall behind the chest is stone? How do you center the buckle?

I think it would still be possible, the chest and sign still rest on two "wood floor 1x1", just center the chest on the shelf you are going to place it on, if you use stone as the object your going to place the chest on, then offset the stone so that the joint between stone piece's is center to where your placing the chest. Similarly you could use the backwall of stone wall 2x1, and the lines or joints between stone piece's to line up the chests, of course if you use the big stone walls 4x2, then there wouldn't be much to line up to. But if you place a wood wall 2x2 to begin with, line up your chests and complete the line of storage chests first, if connected well, and you don't dismantle too much, you might be able to deconstruct the wood wall and replace it with stone, or just build over top of the wood wall with stone.
