Superb build. Well thought out with good functionality. interior looks super cozy and welcoming with the added perk of being "rested" practical. Good to see balistas in use, they do indeed make the base look bad ass. Fishing platform is sweet too. Grats on your fish collection.

I found a tiny sliver of Black Forest that borders the mistlands. I flattened the top of a hill and dug into it to form a basement, then built a base on top. After that, I dug out a wide moat and filled it with spikes. The only way in, is to jump a gap to a gate on the other side. So far, nothing has been able to get in. Even flying seekers can't seem to get over the moat without falling onto the spikes and dying.

I love a good moat filled with spikes haha it definitely does the job but never seems to stop the Stirred the Cauldron event (Bats). With this you can eliminate the spawns all together :)

If you have the top secured by black marble on silver, you can drop down ether bombs and make a radiation pit.

The base looks very legendary. Hope the ballista gets fixed. I never really liked fishing, but they made it easy enough now that I can and will do it. What surprised me was the size of level 4 fish. Real fight to reel them in and holy cow they're massive on the wall.

Pretty cool, I went for a bunker home in the valley personally, and after the nerfs it's super safe.

Bunker bases are another very safe option if done right, but then you lack the ability to have a ship sail ore/mats right up to where you need need it. Then you have to use that jalopy of a cart more lol

Nice house, but if you want to be close to the queen just dig around one side of the queen black marble base. For me it opened up into little cave behind the main structure. One way in from me digging and another way through the back of the black marble base.

I always use the hoe and build a platform. It takes me a long while but nothing can really touch me but bats and drake's. They easy to kill though. Love when freeze glands come to me.

Bats and Drakes are the worst for livestock tho lol but its a nice delivery haha

@@UnknownFactions very true. Each time I get a raid at my main base I have to redo my boar farm. At my wolf farm and lox farm I usually let some go and they do a decent job at protecting the surrounding areas. I really like your base but I need some chaos. Not much but a little. 👍👍

My buddy did something similar when he found a single rock in the ocean that was actually a black forest biome, he spent several thousand stone making it into a small round island, and raids are just non-existant, due to any ground being fully covered in workbench area

Nice build, must have been tough making the initial foundation in the water. Saw your fishing platform. If I catch a whole school of Mistlands fish, I don't get them to respawn if I built structures nearby. Fish respawn in other biomes under the same circumstanses, or so it seems.

It can be if you dont have any land to start on haha and if you have anything built down low that will block spawns i.e. campfires, workbenches etc... the schools of fish won't respawn. Over 20m up respawning isn't an issue though ;)

I took an island and flattened the top down about half. The sides were already steep. I cut a ramp down to the water for ship access. I have portals to all hunting camps. No raids.

"They haven't patched that." No, they actually said they make them aim at you on purpose. Like it's supposed to be "motion sensors" that can't differentiate between you or an enemy. Pretty silly in my opinion. But maybe they're change it someday. Amazing build, man~! Super aesthetically pleasing and practical to boot!

@@UnknownFactions Well, they had a poll asking people if they would want it changed and it was overwhelmingly a "yes". But, they still didn't do anything when they released a patch afterward. I think the OG developer has a thing for making higher difficulties.

Nice build, but if you get a Frost Dragon Raid, they will shoot at your nice little base. Also no need to make it in water, search a relative flat area, lower it as much as you can to the max, then you can raise pillars to the max up and bam, you can make the same as seen here on land even. I am just not that sure, if Trolls or Skeletons can still shoot up at your base.

Water is definitely key to making sure nothing can spawn around your base during a raid. As long as there is no spawn able area, then you wont have a problem. That's why there's no worries about drakes or trolls over the water

@@UnknownFactions Yeah, I always secure my camp with a ton campfires placed in distances to each other measured using workbenches... since enemies not attack them. But a friend finds the fires "stupid" and "ugly". I play right now with a AI mod, turned off enemies going for player build buildings... and surprise... mobs mainly come running if they see something they want to attack, which is in most cases the buildings. Now they only come running if they see me... and I got allot less problems from non-raid normal spawns as compared to before. Had a raid hit(Forrest Boss Raid), they all came to me... the combat was glorious. Allot more fun then them keep disengaging and attacking my other stuff.

I got tired of my shit being destroyed and decided the entire continent belongs to me now. It was a long project and I didn't know about cheats back then. After covering every square inch of the continent with stone floor blocks and raising mound walls around the entire continent with a harbor that loops around a quarter of the continent to ensure any missed spawns don't see my boats, then spawn proofing all the way out to the ocean just in case.... Finally do we... have... peace....
