One of the smartest things the devs did was allow a full refund of materials when building, or when things get destroyed. Obviously in real life, you have to measure twice and cut once, but in a game that allows your imagination to run wild, this sort of freedom and lax rule set allows for maximum creativity. They took a similar approach to the food system, where you’re not constantly worrying about starving: who’d have thought that putting an extreme emphasis on the most enjoyable parts of video games would be so successful?

100% agree. I normally HATE survival games because I am constantly stressing about food and materials but having my hp stop at 25 was a great resolution and I can relax a bit

That’s a stupid thing to say. A lot of other games try to apply realism like the constant need to eat and the fact that once you build something, you can’t reuse 100% of the material that was used.

At the current state of the game, It'll be hard. The amount of instances that will produce will make the server unplayable.

This is a wonderful build. One point I struggled with a bit was how to create the sunken hearth, I used 1m beams to make another platform under the house, but the hearth kept breaking when placed on wooden foundations, that's when I learned the hearth must be placed on stone.

I have my hearth on wood floor but with stone pillar underneath so I suppose that works too

this is a perfectly sized build for a single player.. id love to see more like this, you can fit everything you need, you wont need 100 hours farming mats for it and it looks awesome, win win

@Wrongfully Censored i fit lvl 7 forge, lvl 5 bench, cooking area, and comfort 17 in a 5x5.. i did it a couple times, 550 hours of valheim here. This house is definitely big enough for me, only thing that would be outside is the forges and coal thing

Venturing into the mountains to build a stone fortress - had to build a log cabin to set up shop, but nothing like this! Really cool. Mountains are my favorite biome so far!

This is great. I cant for the life of me build roofs. I don't know how to fill in the gaps. Like under the X at the top of the roof, there will always be a triangular hole above the wall, which is why I am starting to watch a bunch of building videos.
