If you hold shift when using the hoe it will raise/lower the dirt to the average of where you are clicking instead of attempting to level it to elevation where you are standing. Makes it real easy to make a smooth path when doing that.

@@wyomingguy22 i free placed some 45 degree beams in behind the stairs enough to still let me climb them.

Hearing your genuine joy when the the 26° x clicked into place was awesome to hear. I love the building in this game. My problem is I make these grand plans and set the bar too high and then suck the fun out of what I’m supposed to enjoy. Keep up the awesome videos.

I like to plant a pine tree or four at the center of these standing stones. There is nothing like building off of pine.

Ive started on the same base than you then Im gonna try to put 1m of air between the wall and the rufftop. Maybe it can enhance the beauty of it and make it more realistic ! Thanks the video appreciate the energy you got.

I'm currently building a huge 3 story structure on one of these stone areas, it's coming along pretty nice so far. Making it from core wood beans and basic roof until i get to the plains so i can make the black shingle roofs and replace the roof then

@HiccupTheHermit turned into just a huge under area where i have my workstations, cooking station and a forge and a big loft upstairs with a portal room and a chest room a balcony and a room i haven't thought of what to do with yet

I definitely used fly to help create the monstrosity lol but otherwise I'm playing my first playthrough (my first one died with the last update and i found out about the commands so when i set out on my second world i decided to go real big with my base lol my last one was much more simple but in a similar structure with a trench/wall around it

About the only problem I see with this one are the bees that are over the water, you might loose some honey in the water. Overall it looks great.

I've just started out in Valheim. I love housing and it's great to see a game where you can actually build your house the way you want to. Thank you for all your videos on this topic! I have a few questions: 1. I noticed you placed the workbench without any kind of protection, like a roof, etc. How exactly does that work? 2. Is there a reason you didn't use the standing stones themselves, instead building inside the circle of the stones? #curious :D Thanks for the help!

Heck yes! Welcome to Valheim! The building in this game is sooo good! - Oh, for building and farming, just a random Workbench nearby is sometimes needed. You just can't repair your tools when it's not covered. - It was actually really hard to get them all to build into each other evenly... So eventually I just found a nice middle spot and worked with that. Might be possible with the newer build pieces later in the game, but I limited myself to what was available in this biome... @@HiccupTheHermit Thanks for the fast response! Handy to know I don't need the workbench covered for farming and building! That will make things easier in the future :D Ah, completely understandable for the standing stones! I'm wondering if I should leave that for later. I have found "a" location, but maybe not yet my favourite location :D Somewhere by the water where I can maybe also create some extra islands (like I've seen done in other videos) and build a village and such :D I'll see what I found on my journeys!
