Valheim - The Most Epic Base INSIDE a Mountain Rock

Hello folks! I made a short video of my rock base and how I proceeded to create it. Had lots of fun building this and hope you enjoy it. As for my previous videos I don't use any mods in this build.

Absolutely love the creativity of this.. taking the idea of a grand base, but removing the thought that Grand must mean a Large size, and showing that grand can also refer to the style and inventiveness of a base. Very well done!

Thank you so much, that means alot to me! I think it's so exciting to try out these kind of bases and see what you are able to create, especially without any mods. Even though this one was very easy to mess up, you can always "repair it" by making more windows, entrances etc. if this happens, if you decide to try it out some time :)

I am soo curious how various raids look like in a base that is basically sticking out of the face of the mountain like this. I mean, could anything reach it and damage it or is this the ultimate safe house? : D

Haha, I'm not sure actually. For my underground base when raids happened, they tried to destroy the entrance if I didn't do anything. I would think the same happens for this house, don't think the rock would be touched but who knows :D

@@Varjahn It's especially curious since most mobs don't fly and don't punch down. So if they couldn't spawn on top of the rock and smash it (like a troll with a tree) they would either spawn at the bottom of the mountain with no chances of climbing or on the face of it and slide, possibly taking fall damage. Trolls could be remedied by 45 degree roofing to make them not spawn on top/slide if they spawn above. Although with various raids without the slidy thing, the mobs wouldn't exactly be able to leave after the raid, so would the next raid just spawn in and kill the previous one if it was from a different biome? Apart from that, if the drakes can't destroy stone and if the seekers can't destroy it/land there it should be safe, I think. Would love to see some tests!

Hm, it's a good point. I guess if a raids spawns, most likely appear at bottom of the mountain, it gets stuck there until something removes it. If another raid spawns I believe they fight each other then. I think it would be safe up there, but would be intresting to see if something can break in. Might try it later on :D

Hahah, it was the definition of "just a little bit more"...it was so difficult to know also if I could remove more or not 😆

Is there a way to do that in survival? Without flying to make a hole in the mountion.

Yes, you should be able to just build floors from the rock to stand on when digging it. And ofc be careful about falling if the floor breaks xD

You could build a lot of scaffolding to build the outside bit.

venting smoke would be a trick.

Yes, but storage for the smoke also works. If its big enough it will not extinguish the fire :)
