Huh, 2 things I learned from this vid even after hundreds of hours playing - early mobs run away from the torch and the Too Exposed bench thing is because it doesn't like feeling a draft. I always threw away the torch first thing because I felt like the club was better, but now I see you could use the torch as armor, in a sense. Cool! The Exposed bench thing was always a mystery to me. Sometimes it happened and other times it didn't. Now it makes sense based on the wind direction. Thanks for these tips!!

Yea. I've got like 400 hours and just learned what that arrow even meant. Let alone that it was what caused my benches to be exposed 😆

Something I learned: No matter how high up you get, the maximum damage you take from falling is -100hp so if you need to, and have more than 100 health, JUMP OFF A CLIFF TO SAFETY

I find Valheim has a really good balance of complexity. There is enough to keep a variety of players interested for a long time, but it is well enough laid out that you are not totally lost. Especially with the handy in game wiki and raven to guide you.

It took me 2 weeks playing by myself to reach the troll boss and I thought I had already spent 2 years playing the game 💀 One would think that having 3 other people in your party would help but it doesn't lmao. It is a very slow burning but very enjoyable joint lol

Thanks for this. :) I'm sending it to friends who I hope will join me in the game. I'm glad you explained trees. I'm 60 hours into playing and have died to trees more than anything else. Even if I try to dodge them, they still catch me off guard sometimes! Sneaky bastards! I kind of feel like this is my dream game. The studio making it took what I love about MMORPGs, removed all the fake complexity many have that amounts to inventory management, and added the best building mod from ARK and Viking-ized it. Somehow they made death something to avoid without it being overly punishing. I love that I can play co-op or we can rent a server for my longtime gaming buddies. With server rental a month only costs what it would for 1 sub to an MMO, but we can share it and it's only about a $1.50 per person. I'm so stunned that it's still Early Access and loaded with content and so few bugs. It achieves a balance I never knew a game like this could by mixing exciting exploration and battle with relaxing downtime.

Very nice video, a few things though =) Ok, so firstly, RestED buff is +50% health and +100% stamina regen. RestING is +200% health and +300% stamina regen. I firmly believe that after getting those first few raspberries and mushrooms from behind the stones at spawn, your first task should be to make a fire to get that juicy, juicy stamina regen buff! Second, you talk about grave stone but never mention anything about Corpse Run Buff which is 50seconds worth of: Jump stamina usage: -75% Run stamina usage: -75% (Eikhtyr power and Corpse Run together means you can run and jump and it won't cost any stamina) Damage modifier: Very resistant VS Blunt Damage modifier: Very resistant VS Slash Damage modifier: Very resistant VS Pierce 10 health per second I believe they also added increased carry weight. You can easily check these in game. Tab to open inventory and then click the birdie icon and you will see all the active effects and what they do. Pressing V will turn auto pick-up off, often very useful when doing corpse runs.
@tylerhansen1892
@tylerhansen1892 2 жыл бұрын
corpse run allows you to carry another 200 units of weight while active so when you get all your silver create a diving board to the closest coastline and fall to your death. respawn by your boat, run to body, pick up the sliver that is still within carry limits of corpse run and book it back to your boat. repeat as many times as necessary.

Hello, What does this mean? "Pressing V will turn auto pick-up off, often very useful when doing corpse runs." Why not turn it on?
@TheJunnutin
@TheJunnutin 2 жыл бұрын
@@condorX2 If you had full inventory when you died and if you have anything in your inventory when getting it back, you can't just do a "take all". So if you pick up a stone, piece of wood, greydwarf eye, anything, it makes corpse retrieval much harder.

Tip on dying. Mark your spot in case you die again. If you die again before getting your tombstone the marker will move to new location. Can still find 1st tombstone if you marked it a lot easier

they fixed this about 4-5 months ago so if you die in the plains to a good ol' deathsquito you'll also have another 5 or 6 death makers around the same location as you try to figure out which one has your best gear in it.

Valheim complex? To me it seems the devs went out of their way to make it not overly complex.
@petroz5505
@petroz5505 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's complex in regard to the number of mechanics to familiarise yourself and pay attention to, but once the player is aware of the existence of certain mechanic it is pretty easy to understand it.
@GlassDeviant
@GlassDeviant 2 жыл бұрын
@@petroz5505 All of the game mechanics are fairly simple and easy to assimilate though. Some games have such convoluted mechanics that I have walked away from them. Factorio, for example, has to manage the edge of complexity carefully. Many of the bigger mods for it I can't be bothered to get into because of their mind numbing complexity.

I absolutely disagree with setting vegetation to low, it destroys the aesthetics and the immersion. This is pointless to the level that you could almost say it's cheating, if you remove the vegetation, you might as well just go straight to the devcommands and cheat some resources, at least in that way you would be able to enjoy the graphics.
@Kysen
@Kysen 2 жыл бұрын
It's only a suggestion to help people. If it's a setting within the game I don't see it as cheating. Some people have much less time than others to grind out running around looking for resources

As a 700 hour player, it hurts to say the developers botched the longevity of this game. Even after doubling in size, the team has only pushed out new caves, build pieces, and a tree monster in just a little over a year. I love this game but it's incredibly frustrating to see they have no desire to keep players around.
